Description
A bright double bedroom has become available in our Hackney home. All details below!
The room: £747 p/m plus bills. It's at the back of the house, away from the road and overlooking a garden (not ours, but it looks lovely). The room comes furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers and built-in cupboard storage. The deposit is £1000, paid to the landlord and secured by the DPS.
The house: A handsome Victorian redbrick on a quiet, tree-lined street in N16. The heart of the house is the open-plan kitchen and living area, which has high ceilings, large windows and balconies facing east and west. There are four double bedrooms in all; the available room is on the top floor, in the eaves. The house has two generously sized bathrooms, each with a shower and bathtub, plus a separate toilet/laundry room. We have an excellent cleaner who comes every fortnight but we all do our bit to keep the place clean and tidy.
The location: We’re very well placed for shops, transport and Stokey’s bars and restaurants. The house is a two-minute walk from Stamford Hill station, where you can take the Overground south to Liverpool St via London Fields and Bethnal Green, or one stop north to Seven Sisters (Victoria Line). You can catch buses at the end of the road that’ll take you to Manor House (Piccadilly line), Finsbury Park (Victoria line) and Dalston. Supermarkets are a short stroll away and Stoke Newington Church Street is a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute cycle from the house. Clissold Park, Springfield Park and Hackney Marshes are all within walking distance.
Bills: around £150 p/m, which includes gas, electricity, water, council tax, internet, some house supplies (e. g. cleaning products) and the fortnightly cleaner.
Current housemates: You’ll be living with Jenny, Hamish and Loren, aged 32-36. Hamish writes for a travel brand and likes modern lit, music, film and architecture & design. Jenny works for a brand consultancy and has lived in Hackney for years. She's into live music, yoga and fitness, and ceramics. Loren works in the drinks industry, loves music and DJs in his spare time.
We’re a sociable bunch and like to hang out, cook and have a drink together, but we all have our own busy lives too. We’re hoping to find someone who’s a natural fit but there won’t be any pressure to spend all of your time with us.
Who we’re looking for: Ideally a woman to keep the balance. Someone currently in work who’s responsible, clean and respectful (but also laid back and with a sense of humour!). It’s a lovely house and really shines when it’s kept in good nick, making it well suited to someone who's looking for more than just a crash pad. The landlord will need proof of employment and salary level.
The room is available from 23 October. If you’re interested, send us a message telling us a bit about yourself and we can arrange a time for you to come by — we'll be holding viewings on 22 September (possibly Thursday 19 as well).
