One bed in a townhouse in Stoke Newington

Decent sized room in a two bed townhouse in Stoke Newington just off Church Street and next to Clissold Park.

My current housemate is moving overseas to study so I am looking for someone to replace him.

This little house is a dream, with separate living room and kitchen, plus a garden (and a gas bbq!) for the summer nights. We also have the privilege of having something of an angel for a landlord, who is super friendly. There is also a decent amount of storage space and a good sized cupboard on the ground floor to store a bike in.

The room itself is quite large and can comfortably fit a king bed and a desk, along with a dresser and a wardrobe. The room is technically unfurnished but my housemate who is moving out would be happy to sell on some bits like the bed and wardrobe if you were interested.

The rest of the house is fully furnished, but if you’ve got your own furniture we can see what works or fits.

Bills are not included in the rent and at the moment are about £190/month, and this includes everything (internet, water, energy, council tax, fortnightly cleaner). The council tax band is tax band D.

A bit about me: I moved to London from Sydney a few years ago. I work in an engineering consultancy, so keep fairly standard hours during the week. During the week I’m usually up quite early and will be out typically 3-4 nights each week, though sometimes I’m home more often and other times you’ll barely see me. I usually keep myself busy with gigs, plays, dinners out and long bike rides.

Every other month I tend to have friends around for a dinner party or a barbecue (you’ll be more than welcome to join!) and while this isn’t a party house, they’re not completely off the cards (but only really special occasions).
