Description
Hello! Looking for a new flatmate to join me in this cute flat in Stokey from mid/end of June 2024.
About the flat:
✨ A peaceful, beautiful, top floor 2-bed flat. It’s super bright, gets lots of natural sunlight + has lovely views out across NE London. There’s 3 other flats in the building who are all super friendly and we look out for one another on the group WhatsApp.
🏠 It’s split floor - hallway space for coats/shoes/bags right at the bottom, up the stairs a bit to the kitchen (w/ dishwasher) + then up the stairs again to everything else! The room sizes are quite different, but the shared living space is very spacious and I would want you to feel like the whole flat is your home + not feel stuck in one room.
🚲 There’s also a place to store a bike safely.
🛏️ The room is a small double and is £800 pcm (I am paying proportionally + significantly more for the larger room, don’t worry!). It’s cosy, but deceptive and can fit in more than you think. There’s a large inbuilt cupboard in the corner of the room that is a great spot to put stuff you don’t reach for regularly in AND could fit a clothes rail. The room is unfurnished, but comes with 3 pine shelves + a mirror.
🏙️ I’ve lived in London for almost 10 years and Stoke Newington has, by far, been my favourite place to live. SO many cafes, local shops, great parks (there’s like 3 big ones in walking distance to the flat) + bars around. It’s not too far to go out in Dalston and easy enough to travel places by bus, overground or change at Seven Sisters for the Victoria line.
💰 At the moment, I’m paying ~£120 in bills (£50 energy, £68 council tax, £10 water + £13 internet).
About me:
The important part! I’ve lived here for 2 years now and adore it here. My partner and I are splitting up (very amicably) and he’s moving out.
I’m a good mix of social + introverted. I love exploring London with pals, going out for long walks and trying to say yes to new things! At the same time, I know when my battery is running low and will very happily stay in, go down a YouTube rabbit hole or watch a film (can share my Letterbox) + overspend on Deliveroo.
I’m an events producer - mixing WFH and going to the office once or twice a week. A few times a year, I’m away for a couple of days for an event. I’m also training to be a yoga instructor (my true passion!) and am at classes regularly, and will be doing my YTT at the end of this year.
I am also very clean and considerate - I really value my home space and would want someone who feels the same way. I’ve never had to argue with flatmates on cleaning and would LOVE to keep it that way. I’d want to establish a shared cleaning rota or agree to get a cleaner to avoid arguments if either of us are struggling at work or going through a hard time.
About you:
I don’t have too many preferences! Ideally someone of a similar age (25+) who’s tidy, kind natured and enjoys a silly goose time.
I’d love for us to be able to catch up over a tea, share something tasty or head to the pub together, alongside living our own lives. This isn’t a party house, but very much here for dinner parties, games/film nights, etc.
No pets allowed I’m afraid, but we can go and stare longingly at the deer in Clissold.
Logistics stuff/ground rules/next steps:
The landladies are beyond amazing - they’re very fair, approachable and I really respect the relationship that I have with them.
Ideally you would be in full-time employment and/or have a guarantor if required. You would need to put down a ~£980 deposit + go through all the regular reference checks. They might want to meet or chat with you also.
Would love to hear from you, show you the flat and have a chat to see if we match!
