Description
Hello!
We're Bobbie and Alex and we're looking for a third person to join us in this cosy flat from between early to mid January. :)
The Flat:
The flat is located on the ground floor with a secluded area of the communal garden just outside, so it feels like our own private hideaway in the sunshine! :) It's in Shacklewell Lane and off of the road, so the flat is lovely and quiet. The building is gated and requires a fob to enter, so it feels safe and secure.
There are three bedrooms, a kitchen/ living room and bathroom. We have a washer and a dryer in the bathroom, a mixture of appliances (including an espresso machine!), wooden floors throughout and the flat is light and open, although cosy!
Our landlord, Chris, gets things done quickly and is easygoing. He's been great about keeping rent increases low!
The flat is a five minute walk to the bustling Stoke Newington High Street, which has bars, cafés, restaurants and the famous Rio Cinema. Dalston is a 5-10 minute walk away too, and supermarkets nearby are Sainsbury's and Morrison's, as well as a smaller Aldi, Tesco and Co-op.
We are a two minute walk from Hackney Downs, fifteen minutes from Clissold Park and Church Street, and 30 minutes to Hackney/ Walthamstow marshes, which all provide plenty of walking and running paths.
The Room:
The room available comes with a bed and clothes rack, built in shelves and faces the far end of the courtyard.
Rent is £800 per month and the deposit is £774 (deposit may increase to rent price).
Currently, bills are around £115-130. This is for all bills, including council tax, water, broadband, gas and electricity. We will also have a cleaner starting in January, which will be £30 each per month!
The Flatmates:
Bobbie is an addiction practitioner and training psychotherapist and loves swimming, any film that Alex recommends and trying new food spots.
Alex is a working Jazz musician and loyal Prince Charles Theatre ticket holder, often providing epic films recommendations!
And finally, but possibly most importantly, we have Hugo, a black cat who hasn't forgotten that cats were once worshipped.... He's a friendly guy who likes to share the love!
We're both big foodies and enjoy sharing dinner, drinks at our local (The Hand of Glory) and film recs. Alex is always in demand on the Jazz scene so is often out of a night and Bobbie is between school, work and those new food spots.
The New Flatmate:
This is an LGBTQ+ and ally space, so it's important that you are, too.
We are preferably looking for a male to join the flat, as we have enjoyed the balance that this brings, but it's more important to find the right fit. So all applications are welcome!
We're looking for someone who is relaxed, mindful, sociable but independent and most importantly someone who is looking for a home. Because of the work we both do, we would like the flat to be a quiet, chill and relaxing place to be - this is a home, not just a place to sleep! :) We enjoy each others company but have our own things going on as well and like our own space from time to time. Someone who wants the same kind of thing going on at home is most welcome!
We're looking for someone to move in by 1st January but may be flexible. Rent is due by the 1st of each month, so first month's rent would be by 1st January.
If you like the idea of living with two foodies and a cuddly four-legged friend then hit us up!
Smokers are welcome, but not in the flat please. :)
