We are three women aged 33-40 looking for another woman to join our friendly household. We would like someone 35+ who is clean, responsible, and has experience living in shared accommodation.
The house is a quiet, non-party sanctuary that we keep clean and calm. To keep it this way, we don't sublet our bedrooms when we're away - but we do welcome visitors (friends and family) to stay over for short periods of time :) We are considerate and like to give notice to each other when we have visitors/partners staying, and would enjoy the same level of conscientiousness. We are blessed with a beautiful garden with plenty of space for us all to enjoy in the warmer months.
There are two bedrooms on the third floor, two on the second floor, and two bathrooms. One with a shower and the other with a bath. We have a good-sized kitchen with a table and chairs to dine at. We also have a double living room front and back, in which we have a double sofa bed and a projector on one side and some fitness equipment on the other, so lots of shared space to enjoy.
You would be sharing with Sam (Venue Manager), Lia (Biologist), and Chihiro (Language teacher and actress). We are varied in our hobbies, which include music making, attending live music, bird watching, Kyūdō exploring/travelling, Theatre, all things arts and culture, languages, nature, gardening, fitness (mind and body), films, food (cooking and takeaways), reading, writing, chatting about current affairs and politics.
We are mindful of noise as one of us is an early bird ;) We like to enjoy each other's company and also respect each other's downtime. We are mostly pescatarian/pollo/veggie and would ideally enjoy it if our new housemate were too, but this is not a deal-breaker. We are all non-smokers and so looking for a non-smoker too. We are all pretty eco-conscious and would like it if our new housemate were also. We are a lefty house, so we would enjoy someone with similar political views.
From time to time, we may have well-behaved furry friends come to visit, so it is Important that our new housemate is OK with dogs and happy and comfortable around four-legged friends.
The house is a 5-10 minute walk to Stoke Newington High Street and the vibrant church street with great restaurants and shops. Dalston is just a 20-minute walk away, as is the canal by Millfields Park and the Lea Valley, with access to a plethora of sports and leisure activities. We are a 10-minute walk from Abney Park and Clissold Park, a 20-minute walk from Woodberry Wetlands, a 5-minute walk from Hackney Downs Park and a 10-minute cycle from London Fields Park and Lido.
The closest overground station is Rectory Road (2 min walk), and bus stops for the 67, 76, 149, 243, and 276 are all 3 min walk. The closest convenience stores are excellent, open late and just a 2-minute walk away.
If all the above appeals and you think you would be a good fit, please send us a short message introducing yourself with details of your employment and hobbies. Also, to help us with our decision-making, please show that you have read the whole ad by letting us know if you are a morning or nighttime showerer. We look forward to meeting our new housemate!
The room is available from 10/09 for a minimum of a year with the possibility to extend.
