Hello!
We’re looking for a new housemate to join our three bedroom home in Stoke Newington. We have a double room available as our current housemate is moving out of London in October.
We’re Daf, 49, and Justin, 51. Justin works as an editor on newspapers and Daf arranges access to healthcare at a charity.
We’ve both lived in the area for a while and make good use of the parks and pubs nearby. We’re interested in current affairs, music (almost completely different kinds), films (much the same taste), various sports and exploring London.
The house occupies the bottom two stories of a gated block built in the mid 2000s. The room is a double on the first floor with a fitted wardrobe. The window looks out over Abney Park cemetery/nature reserve.
The room is unfurnished. The rest of the house is furnished, although our current housemate will be taking a few things so there will be some space for new items.
We have a large lounge and a separate kitchen/dining room with all the things you’d hope to find, including a dishwasher.
There’s a garden at the back of the house next to Abney Park which is a lovely space for relaxing.
One of the other rooms has an en-suite bathroom, so there’s a bathroom and an additional separate toilet to share between two. There’s plenty of storage space throughout the house and we have excellent soundproofing.
We’re located right next to the 106 bus route (10 minutes to Finsbury Park station) and the C1 cycle route. It’s 10 minutes walk to Stoke Newington station (although from experience you can do it in 7 when you have to).
We’re about a five minute walk from Stoke Newington Church Street and its plentiful pubs and restaurants and the same distance from Clissold Park.
We’re looking for a friendly person to share our relaxed, peaceful home.
The rent is £1050 pcm. Bills are around £180pcm including water, electricity, broadband, council tax, TV licence and TV channels package. The room is available from the 19th of October. References will be required by the letting agent.
