Cosy Double Room in Hackney

Hi –

It’s very bittersweet to be leaving my amazing house share – but it does mean we’re now looking for a new gal (aged 30+) to join our lovely home near Hackney Downs.

The house itself is a real gem – a huge Victorian terrace with a generous kitchen, garden, living room and two bathrooms, spread across three levels. There are four bedrooms in total and the space feels bright, calm and genuinely homely.

The available room is a spacious double on the top floor, overlooking the garden. It comes unfurnished, with plenty of space for a double bed, drawers and a wardrobe and features a gorgeous original fireplace.

This is very much a home rather than just a house share. We look after the space, clean weekly and are respectful of each other. Evenings are often spent relaxing in front of the TV, cooking together, or having the odd house dinner or BBQ. We’re looking for someone who wants a chilled, social and considerate home life – somewhere that feels lovely to come back to at the end of the day.

Your future housemates would be El, Deeps and Alice – three wonderful women in their thirties. El is an actor and also works at a university, Deeps works in film and Alice is a school teacher. We all have busy lives but share a love of film, theatre, cooking, the gym and making the most of London – food, drinks, exhibitions and everything in between.

We also have a very important part-time resident dog, so a dog lover is a must. El’s Romanian rescue, Fig, stays with us on a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off basis and is the sweetest girl – a big fan of girls’ nights on the sofa.

The location is spot on – right by Hackney Downs, with Dalston, Stoke Newington and Clapton all within easy walking distance. You’re surrounded by great cafés, pubs, restaurants and green spaces. The closest station is Rectory Road.

The room is a total bargain at £783 pcm, with bills bringing the total to around £910 pcm.

Available from 1 March, with the possibility of moving in earlier if needed.
