The flat was renovated a few years ago, and the main bathroom has underfloor heating and heated towel rails. Please excuse the incredibly ugly sofa in the photos — it’s mid-reupholstery, but it’s huge and absurdly comfortable.

The house is on a quiet residential street, just a five-minute walk from Church Street with its cafés, restaurants and pubs. We’re also five minutes from Stoke Newington Overground (you can get to Oxford Circus in under 30 minutes), plus plenty of bus options.

On the floor plan, the available room is the bedroom on the right on the second floor, measuring 3.8m x 3m (12'5 x 9'10 for the imperial-minded). The floor plan is slightly out of date as it pre-dates the renovations.

The room is unfurnished, but what it lacks in furniture it makes up for in natural light — there’s a huge skylight that keeps it bright all day.

The rest of the flat is generously sized too: 130 sqm in total, with a separate kitchen and living room. It’s a friendly, easygoing home.

About us (well, me):
I own the flat and have the bedroom in the attic, but will be subletting that room from January to May while I’m working in Australia. My housemate of ten years just moved out (which surely proves my mum’s point that I’m a delight), so their room is also being repainted and will soon be up for rent. It’s always been a sociable house — I love trying new restaurants, I’m always up for a pub trip, and I’m very happy to spend an afternoon binge-watching a new series. I promise not to eat your food… unless it's really good cheese, in which case all bets are off.

The monthly rent includes all bills, broadband, and a fortnightly cleaner.
