Description

***VIEWINGS/INTERVIEWS TAKING PLACE AT 12-3PM ON SATURDAY 3rd JANUARY 2026***

Note that the deposit is £781, not £761 – we're not able to change that above.

THE HOUSE

Great terrace on a quiet street in the south part of Stoke Newington. Close enough to all the action in Dalston to the south and Newington Green to the east, and very well connected (Dalston Kingsland/Junction stations + buses running on Stoke Newington Road). There are plenty of parks, cafes, pubs, restaurants, bars, clubs around the area within walking distance – it's a great area of London.

The house is spread across three levels with a living room, kitchen, garden and wooden floorboards. We also have a large cellar so storage is not an issue.

We are looking for a new housemate as our lovely housemate of almost eight years Tyson is moving in with his partner.

THE ROOM

A moderately sized double room on the second floor in the middle of the building with a decent window facing the back garden. The room shares a wall with another bedroom and our neighbours who are quiet.

ABOUT US

Lou (31)
Aussie from Perth. Climate and animal rights campaigner, official Prince house plant mum, and expert cook, crocheter and maker of clothes. Loves nature, foraging and wild camping.

Charlotte (31)
German from Cologne. Works in sustainable clothes design using bacteria to dye high-end textiles, and a keen kickboxer. Often found on a Lime bike or making silly WhatsApp stickers.

Alistair (30)
Londoner, previously an officer in the British Army and then animal rights campaigner, now working at an effective altruism think tank. Enjoys podcasts, talking about philosophy, watching the cricket and going gym.

We are good friends who lead busy independent lives and appreciate escaping the bustle of the city to our comfortable, friendly home. We go to the pub or share dinner on occasion, but mostly cook independently. Our tree-cave garden (complete with flowers and a huge cherry tree) is perfect for summer BBQs.

Our priority is that everyone feels comfortable and in control of our shared spaces. We are very considerate – checking in with one another before having groups of friends around, and before having anyone stay overnight in the living room.

**The house is definitely NOT a party house**

Two of us are vegan, and those open to veganism are especially welcome. However anything can be cooked in the kitchen – the non-vegan just tries to limit exposing the others to non-vegans foods where possible. No rules here, just courtesy. We are also very welcoming to LGBTQ+ people :)

We don't have any animal companions ourselves but our neighbour's grey cat Oscar is a welcome regular in our home.

We are looking for someone who:
– is kind, considerate and very respectful of others
– likes to keep a clean and tidy living space (wiping down surfaces, unloading dishwasher, taking bins out)
– is looking for a semi-social house
– can sign up for at least one year

DETAILS/COSTS
– Furniture included: double bed + mattress, wardrobe, and a chest of drawers that stays on the landing just opposite the door.
– Bills are separate (around £160 a month that includes gas, electric, water, council tax (band E), fortnightly cleaner, EE Broadband, and shared essentials like toilet paper and cleaning products).
– Rent: Upon agreeing to move in you’ll pay £330 to hold the room, which will be part of your first month’s rent. The remaining £330 is due on moving in.
– Deposit due before moving in.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you with a bit about yourself and what about our home appeals to you! :)
