Description
Hello!
I’m a live-in landlord looking to rent my spare double room, in Stoke Newington (Hackney), available from mid-February for £850 pcm (excluding bills) but flexible on moving-in date.
The bills are £180 (pcm) includes: Council Tax, Gas & Elec, Water, Broadband (Virgin M350 fibre broadband) and Virgin TV (360 box).
I like to think I'm a young 44 (!) - I'm friendly, down to earth, sociable, independent and considerate and looking for a flatmate who is similar, and up for having a chat and hanging out a bit, as well as feeling free to have time and space to themselves. I've had flatmates/lodgers for the last 15 years so I'm used to welcoming people and making them feel comfortable sharing my home!
I live a quiet life during the week, but am often out for dinner, drinks, gigs etc at the weekend. I keep the flat clean and tidy so that it's a calm environment to come home to. I do have people round occasionally (and would be happy for you to) but I do most of my socialising out, rather than in the flat, so looking for someone similar ish!
I think the key to sharing well is to be honest about lifestyles, and to be considerate, but also think it’s important to have a good sense of humour about it!
I have two part-time jobs. On weekdays, apart from being home a bit on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, I rarely rarely WFH (maybe once or twice a month).
DOUBLE ROOM:
It’s quiet & light, at back of the house, on the first floor, with a view over the neighbouring gardens.
Furnished with; built-in shelves, large cupboard, a wardrobe with hanging space, double bed (and mattress) and bedside tables & lamps.
I'm open to re-thinking the furniture arrangement if needed.
WFH - the room isn't really big enough for a permanent desk, , but you can use the kitchen table, or I have a fold down desk that can be used in the living room, or the bedroom (if you move the bed a little). So it's probably not the best set up if you WFH a lot, but fine if you only work from home a bit.
There's a bike loop in the front garden & you can buy residents parking / day parking vouchers.
LOCATION:
Dalston Kingsland & Dalston Junction stations - 10-15 mins walk.
Rectory Road Station (which goes to Liverpool Street) - 10 mins walk
- Bus stops - few mins walk (loads of route options)
AREA:
Dalston and Stoke Newington's Church Street are both just 10 mins walk away. There are loads of cafes & restaurants, pubs & bars, supermarkets, independent shops etc close by and Clissold Park, Clissold Leisure Centre, Rio Cinema and Arcola Theatre are all within walking distance.
Open to cats but not dogs sorry, but the flat is on the first & second floor and only has a balcony not a garden, so might not suit an outdoor cat!
If you have any questions about the room or the flat, please do get in touch!
If we think it might work based on a first meeting/viewing, it would be great to also take the time to go for a coffee / go for a drink to see if we would be the right fit 😊
Thanks!
