Description
Hi, we have a small single room coming up in our house in Streatham and are hoping to find a new female housemate - sharing with two male and two female.
Someone with a cat(s) would be especially welcome!
The room is listed as furnished but there's not much in there other than the bed and some shelves at the moment as it makes sense to wait till we know who will be moving in to discuss what they would like, or if they have items of their own they would like to keep instead.
I'm including photos of the room in a couple of different formats - the bed is currently on a high platform but that can be removed if preferred.
It's a house with character, not a magnolia show-home - there might be a few wrinkles but it's colourful and cosy and things work!
There is shared space - a big open plan kitchen-dining area-living room but there's a musician in the living room a lot so it can get loud at times, which wouldn't suit everyone. But it's not a 'party' house and consideration of other people's needs is definitely a thing here.
Were not in each others pockets the whole time but it's still a friendly house so it's very important to us that we find someone we really get on with.
LGBT-friendly
Full disclosure: this is the closest bedroom to where the music gets made. I have had 26 years of adapting to different people's daily schedules in that room and respect people's need for sleep, and most of the time it has worked well, but if you're someone who would never want to hear a bit of bass coming through the floor this is probably not the house for you!
All bills + council tax included.
Two bathrooms - both with bath, shower and loo.
Well-equipped kitchen.
Washing machine.
Garden - with very ungenerous cherry and pear trees but an awesome apple tree
Parking for one (none of us have cars). Parking on the street isn't too bad but we're in a CPZ now so there are restrictions.
Room for a pushbike in the garage
Fast Broadband.
We have two buses that stop close to us - 315 and 417, good for the Northern line, plus the N137, or it's a less than 10 min walk to Streatham Hill station and the high road, which is great for buses, and it's an easy walk to Tulse Hill station too.
There's also a 24-hour garage and shop a minute away which can be handy at times.
Please DON'T phone before midday!
