Large double room near Streatham Common station

Hello, I'm Ben and I have a large double room available to rent in a very nice two-bedroom house in Furzedown, near Streatham Common station. I'm a live out landlord although I occasionally come back to the house to do maintenance, look after the garden etc. The person in the other bedroom is a very lovely Indian guy, 27 years old (mainly works from the office but occasionally from home).

The house

It's a Victorian cottage with a pretty garden backing onto a railway. It was originally built as a residence for workers on the London to Brighton South Coast Railway Line. In case you're worried about noise, the trains trundle by very slowly every 10/15 minutes (they don't hurtle) and the bedroom faces the front. The road outside is very quiet because it's a cul-de-sac.

The room is 14 feet x 10 feet, contains a double bed, table, chair, wardrobes and shelving, and has nice floorboards.

The house has a well-equipped kitchen, sitting room, and a bathroom with a large walk-in shower and free-standing bath.

There is plenty of space in the hallway to store a bike.

I don't have a TV or a TV Licence. You'd be welcome to have one in your room but you would have to cover the licence fee. All other bills (water, council tax, internet, gas, electricity) are included in the rent.

I'm open to pets.

The Area

The house is ten minutes walk from Tooting Bec Common (home of the Lido) and Streatham Common (home of the Rookery with outdoor concerts and festivals). There's a Sainsburys, Tesco, Lidl and Aldi all within walking distance.

Transport Links

Five minutes walk to Streatham Common station (17 mins to Victoria and 23 mins to London Bridge).

Streatham Hill is a ten-minute walk and has lots of buses going in all directions.
