Description
So I’ve been living here for 3 years and one of our rooms has become available.
It’s a large Room 5.5 meters (17ft) long with an en-suite. The window is south facing giving plenty of sunlight and it looks out to the garden and a field of allotments. There are concealed mood lights you can control from your phone. The land lord replaces all the bedding each time we have a new housemate including a new mattress.
Lifestyle & House Culture
We are a relaxed but considerate household of working professionals. The goal is a comfortable home environment — friendly, respectful and clean — not a party house.
Everyone washes their own dishes, keeps common areas tidy, and respects noise levels in the evenings (e. g., TV/music should not disturb neighbouring rooms after 8pm).
We also experience fast response to any defects and maintenance issues which are usually dealt with straight away. I have also had a few modifications made to my room just by requesting them and just generally we feel the house is well appointed to a high standard.
Currently a new living room is being renovated so there no pictures of that.
The large kitchen-diner has 2 sinks, 2 cooker-ovens, dish washer and 3 fridge/freezers. There is CCTV outside and a metal bike shed.
It’s very convenient with the station only 4 minutes walk away with trains getting to Victoria in 18 minutes and London Bridge in a little longer. 12 minutes walk away is another station with a ThamesLink service having trains going through the centre of the city.
1 to 2 minutes walk away there loads of local shops and in less than 10 minutes you get to Europe's longest High Street with countless amenities of every kind.
All bills are included with a cleaner coming every week for 3 hours and even free use of allotments behind our garden where me and a couple housemates grow our vegetables.
The garden is really something else with a great area for socialising or just chilling out after work with soft furniture, BBQ, pond and all looking well maintained by the landlord who lives in his own flat at the back of the building.
Overall we generally feel it’s the best place we’ve rented.
