Single room in Streatham common

We have a lovely single room available in our home in Streatham Common. We’re a house of four working professional Christian women and are looking for someone to join us.

Our house is very much a home, not a typical house share. We enjoy spending time together — whether that’s the occasional evening watching TV or sharing meals — while also respecting each other’s independence and personal space. We all have our own routines and attend different churches, which creates a really nice balance of community and privacy. We have all lived together for 3 years.

In the house is a Teacher, Youth Worker, Civil Servant and project manager at a church.

We often host our family and friends at our house, love gathering around food, and enjoy hosting a good party. We’d also love to get to know your community, too! Because of this, the house can feel lively at times, but it’s equally a calm and restful space for everyone with our busy London lives!

Downstairs there’s a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area, plus a second reception room that we use as a home office. If you work from home, there’s space to add another desk. You would share a bathroom on the middle floor with two others, which has both a bath and a shower. The house also has a washing machine and tumble dryer (though we mostly use drying racks).

Bills are shared and fairly standard. We’re mindful of our usage and try to live as sustainably as possible, including buying household products together from ethical suppliers.

We have a medium garden which we all work together to keep in a nice way, and plant lots of bulbs and flowers! In the summers its fab to eat outside and host as it gets some great sun

It is a great location, just a short walk to Streatham and Streatham Common stations so easy access to train routes into Central London. Close to local shops, pubs, cafés, restaurants, and supermarkets and some fab charity shops too! We live on a quiet, residential road with a strong community feel.

Streatham Common is at the end of our road, which is a lovely walk, and you can also get to Tooting Common for a perfect 5k running loop.

We’re looking for someone friendly, respectful, and settled in work, who’s happy to be part of a warm, comfortable, and considerate home.
