Double Room | Streatham Common | Garden

We’re looking for a clean, sociable, easy-going person to join our home. I am moving out of the UK after several happy years living with these housemates. The room is available from 14 September, but flexibility is possible as we’ve got a spare room - just let us know your ideal move date! 😊

🏠 Housemates:

Daisy, Emily, Toby and Tom, ages 25–29. All young professionals who have lived together for just over three years and we moved into this house because we wanted somewhere that felt like a proper home, not just a house share. We cook and hang out together sometimes, but everyone also has their own lives and respects each other’s space, so we’re after someone who enjoys both.

Occasionally we have some cute friendly dogs stay with us, so not suitable for someone allergic or scared of dogs.

🛏️ The room:
• Spacious double room with wooden floors and very high ceiling
• Large east-facing window (plenty of sun in the mornings)
• Unfurnished (bed and mattress available for a £50 fee, other furniture available too - just ask!)

🏡 The house:
• Furnished throughout (by us 😃)
• Two (!) living rooms, a dining room, and a large kitchen
• Two spacious bathrooms (bath + shower in one, double shower in the other) plus a downstairs toilet in the laundry room
• Dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer
• Front garden and a very spacious back garden with (somewhat battered, but still perfectly good to use) garden furniture
• Laundry room, large walk-in wardrobe for outerwear, attic and cellar storage
• A spare room for guests, handy for when friends or family visit
• On street parking available (non permit, usually no issues parking right outside the house)
• Council tax band F (£41pp)

📍 Location:
• 6-minute walk to Streatham Common station with local shops on the way (trains to Victoria and London Bridge or one stop to Balham for the Northern line)
• 10-minute walk to Streatham Common (with The Rookery Gardens at the top!)
• Large Sainsbury’s 10 minutes away, large Tesco 15 minutes, Aldi 15 minutes (by Streatham station)
• Tooting Bec Lido a 25-minute walk

💰 Rent: £900 pcm + council tax (£41) + bills (approx. £50-80 per month), rent is due on the 1st of every month

👥 About the housemate we’re looking for:
Another young professional, preferably 26+, someone tidy, easy-going, and up for a home with real community as well as independence. Referencing done via agency when signing the contract.

It’d be a real bonus to find someone who fancies the odd coffee, walk, or glass of wine together!
