Description

A huge, bright bedroom in a lovely Victorian garden flat, 4 minutes walk from Streatham Hill station.

The bedroom is genuinely large, the ceilings are high, with an original Victorian fireplace (decorative), and the flat has a big private garden. If you like characterful homes, good food, plants and the occasional glass of wine and laugh, read on.

The flat
- Two-bedroom ground-floor flat in a Victorian house
- Large, furnished living room
- Fully equipped kitchen for anyone who actually likes cooking
- Large, beautiful private garden with direct access from the kitchen
- Lots of plants, character and the inevitable ongoing little DIY projects

- A separate bike + storage room

- Brilliantly connected for shops and public transport, but tucked away enough to be quiet and peaceful.

About Your bedroom (Available from 15 October 2026):
It is the larger of the two bedrooms and comes with:
- High ceilings and original Victorian fireplace
- Double bed
- Two wardrobes
- Two chests of drawers
- Large mirror
- Blackout curtains
- Carpeted floor
- Bathroom immediately outside the bedroom

You are very welcome to bring your own furniture and make the room feel like yours. Existing furniture can be removed by agreement.

About The Bathroom:
There is a modern, clean shower room with toilet conveniently located between the two bedrooms, plus a smaller separate WC.

About The Connectivity:
- The flat is around a 4-minute walk from Streatham Hill station, with easy connections towards Victoria and London Bridge.
- Shops, supermarkets, cafés and everything else you need are 3-4 mins walk away.
- Brixton and Clapham Common are around 15 minutes by bus, and Balham is around 18 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by bus.
- A large common is 5 mins walk at the end of the street if you are into running, walking or play football.

About me:
- I have an eclectic career: I am an ex art director turned chef and I work in UX, having recently completed my Master's in Human-Computer Interaction Design.
- I am vegetarian and love cooking, particularly the slightly ridiculous kind that turns an ordinary Tuesday into a three-course affair. I occasionally host dinner parties, and there’s almost always room for one more at the table.
- I love plants, which means the flat has quite a lot of them. Possibly too many. I disagree.
- I also love travelling, art, antiques and DIY projects, and I enjoy sharing a glass of wine and a good laugh when the mood strikes.
- I have my own life and interests and completely respect someone else having theirs. My ideal home is somewhere we can both disappear into our own worlds when we want to, but also happily have a chat, share a drink or occasionally eat together when it happens naturally.
- Friends and family occasionally visit, just as I visit them.
- I have lived and worked in several countries, so I am very comfortable with different cultures, accents, habits and approaches to making tea.

- I am easy-going and very much a “do my bit around the house” kind of person. No scorecards, no rotas, just a bit of give and take.

About you:
- I am looking for one friendly, clean and considerate professional who wants a home, not just a bedroom with Wi-Fi.
- You have your own life and enjoy your independence, but also enjoy living with another human being.
- You are someone who naturally looks after the place you live in, keeps shared spaces pleasant and, if something goes wrong, simply says so.
- Common sense, consideration and mutual respect matter much more to me than a long list of house rules. And a sense of humour definitely helps.
- If you happen to dabble in art, making things, interiors, cooking, DIY, investing or anything similarly creative, we will probably have plenty to talk about.

Rent & availability:

Optional half/full board available at additional cost:
- And if you hate cooking…I am a chef, so half-board or full-board can also be arranged for an additional monthly amount. Completely optional, but potentially dangerous for anyone hoping to survive on toast and cereal.

If this sounds like somewhere you could happily call home, send me a little about yourself: what you do, what your normal week looks like, what you enjoy doing when you are not working, and what you are hoping to find in a home.
