Two doubles in a peaceful home

Two rooms available.

The larger one is available from October and is £875 /month
The smaller one is avaliable now and is £850/ month

I am looking to rent both rooms for 9 months initially but thereafter would be open to annual leases. (the 9 months is just to bring the renewal in line with when I plan on being home to sort things out).

If there was someone who wanted to be away for the summer, I would also be open to 9 or 10 months on 2 or 3 months off – if that makes sense.

The large room at the front of the house is my old room, and you would be taking it while I’m away doing fieldwork (due to continue for another 2 years). It has a huge bed (super king) with plenty of storage and natural light. There is the option to add a desk if needed, but there’s also plenty of space to set-up a laptop in communal areas.

The smaller double at the back of the house is also a good sized double and comes complete with a desk and shelves, so might be better suited to someone working from home. It has just been re-decorated and because it’s at the back of the house it is the quieter of the two rooms.

There is also a large kitchen, with a big table and plenty of fridge space. Plus, a cosy sitting room with a wood burner.
The garden at the back is very green and full of wildlife (birds and squirrels mostly) and there's a deck for chilling with a coffee and a book. It’s also great in hot weather because the trees create a lot of shade at the back of the garden, which helps cool the house.

Most of the time you will be sharing with my brother Matthew. I will probably only be home for 2-3 months during the summer (during which time I will stay in the box room), but may come back at other times if needed.

Matthew’s room is downstairs and he’s quite shy and generally keeps to himself and has his own bathroom so probably won't see him a lot.

I am a wildlife vet currently doing my PhD in Nepal. As I said, I will be away a large proportion of the time, but when I am around, very up for getting to know each other and similarly equally happy to give you your space.

We are a cat friendly household, but don’t have cats at the moment, so if you wanted to bring a cat they would be very welcome. There’s a cat flap in the loft, so I can easily re-install that in the back door if needed.

Ideally, I’m looking for people of a similar age and outlook, who are clean and tidy and not looking for a massive party house, although that’s not to say you can't host or have people over.

There is street parking available if you need it - you need to get a residents permit, but the permit itself is free, just a matter of filling in some forms.

Rent is inclusive of all bills including council tax (band D) and we have a weekly cleaner for the common areas.
