Self contained studio - on a boat at Tower Bridge

This is a special opportunity to live aboard a historic Dutch barge on the River Thames next to Tower Bridge. The space is comprised of a light and airy wheelhouse and the original “captains cabin" with a bed nook (that has been modernised).

This is for a short term let, up to 1st September (or maybe 15th). There are many boats here with rental spaces, so if you like it, there is highly likely to be another room to rent.

The accommodation is self contained, with its own entrance into the wheelhouse with seating and a table, then down the ships steps into another living area, with a built in sofa, small kitchen, shower and toilet. The double bed is in a snug raised cubby in the same space, but the doors to the cubby can also be closed. There is central heating in both the wheelhouse and the main living area, and it is incredibly cosy.

The occupant has exclusive access to the wheelhouse with stunning 360 views of the mooring, River Thames and Tower Bridge. And shared access to a small outside deck with amazing views of Tower Bridge.

The space is completely separate to the main occupants and has a private entrance. This could be suitable for a professional couple - but single occupancy preferable. You need to have a flexible approach and sense of humour as boat dwelling is not for everyone (although very fun!). If you want a bit of a London adventure for a few months - this is for you.

I am a professional woman and myself and my adult son live in the hold section of the boat, and are on hand most of the time - but the spaces are separate and each have their own kitchen/bathroom/entrance. Strictly no smokers.

Internet may be available. Clean bed linen included, and limited cleaning.

The moorings is a gated community with award winning gardens. It is a quiet oasis in a bustling city. With very close transport links to Bank, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and London Bridge - the location is excellent. There are lots of local shopping and dining options in the area. Closest tube is London Bridge, Bermondsey and Tower Bridge (all about 10-15 walk). Very close to 188, 381, 47, C10 (5 minute walk).

The mooring is a delightful community and there is a book club, craft club and several opportunities for socialising. It is also quiet and private - so the best of both worlds!
