Description
Hello everyone,
My name is Laila and I'm looking for friendly and tidy flatmate to come share my lovely split-level flat.
I'm relaxed & welcoming, quite arty, out quite a bit socially and very busy with my work - I currently work from home 3 days a week & run a film society & festival on top of my day job in publishing.
Ideally, I'm looking for someone with a similar work ethic, who doesn't mind sharing a meal every now and again or flopping in front of the telly together.
Because I’m so busy I have created a really warm space to come home and completely unwind in - I'm all about balance in life. I've lived with introverts & extroverts really well as I'm a bit of both and very adaptable & respectful of people’s space.
This is a fabulous flat in a terrific location. It was a new conversion when I moved in 10 years ago & because it's all on different levels you never feel like you're on top of each other.
Archway tube is only a 10 min walk up Holloway Rd and Finsbury Park is 20 min walk away too.
I deal directly with the landlord who is quick to respond with any issues & very respectful of our space.
Your potential new room is a large double bedroom, North West facing, tons of natural light, and can be furnished or un-furnished. Currently it comes with a wardrobe, small bookshelf & full-length mirror. The landlord will provide a bed if you need it or remove any furniture you don't want. The image is from the last time it was up for lease.
The kitchen is well equipped (I'm a bit of a foodie) & has lots of storage space, a proper coffee/espresso machine & there's a little wicker table and chairs for breakie & Sunday papers. There's a new fridge and microwave. No dishwasher unfortunately.
The lounge has two large sofas, 42" TV (Amazon Prime & C4 provided free - I'm thinking of renewing Netflix too), a 4' fish tank (which I maintain), lots of art on the walls and a dining table and four chairs. There is a wall of DVDs & another full of books, board games and jigsaw puzzles. You'll never be bored here! :)
I currently work on a little desk in the lounge and you'd be more than welcome to work on the main table, or I can move my workspace into my room. My current flatmate (of 3.5 years) works in her room & didn't mind me using the lounge for work.
The bathroom is very clean with a shower over the bath, some plants & candles and we use Who Gives a Crap toilet paper. I don't currently use a cleaner but open to getting one.
The block is a floor higher than anything surrounding so you get a perfect view of the summer sun setting over Highgate Hill from the balcony/terrace & you can see the Shard out the other side of the building.
On the balcony there's two bench seats, a marquee for shelter & a small BBQ. There is a table if you need one, loads of cushions and it's a great space to have friends around in the summer.
I don't smoke but some of my friends do as well as my current housemate and it doesn't bother me at all - just keep it outside & chuck out the butts regularly.
The neighbourhood is really quiet, but we do live on a fairly busy traffic street. You don't hear anything from the bedroom except kids playing in their back gardens in the summer.
All the flats in the block are alarmed and our neighbours downstairs are very respectful and tend to keep to themselves.
Our Council tax is Band D and I use TalkTalk and Octopus for the internet and utilities.
The room is now available to view, feel free to message me with any questions & I look forward to meeting you.
