Hi, I’m Caitlin 👋 and I'm sadly moving out of our lovely house on in June to relocate to the coast, which means a fantastic double room is up for grabs!
The Room 🛏️
The room itself is a really good size –with street-facing bay windows that let in lots of light (but have frosted panels for privacy, which is handy). The high ceilings help make the space feel even bigger. There's great storage with two big built-in wardrobes. There's even an original fireplace (from when the house was built in 1899) you could use for extra storage or for decoration. The room comes with a comfy king bed and mattress, a chest of drawers, and two bedside tables. Plus, there's definitely space for a desk if you work from home. Loads of double plug sockets too, which is always a bonus.
The House 🏠
The house is in great condition and designed for shared living- a full re-decoration was completed in Autumn 2023, so everything feels really fresh and modern with new appliances, fixtures, paint, windows, and furniture.
Upstairs, there are two other double rooms (already taken) and a really nice open-plan kitchen and living area that opens onto our private paved garden. The kitchen is well-stocked with two fridges, a freezer, oven, induction hob, microwave, coffee machine, and kettle – plus all the pots, pans, and plates you could need.
The living area has a small sofa, a couple of armchairs, a dining table and benches, and a TV. The garden is perfect for catching some sunshine- we have outdoor seating, a BBQ and a little shed for storage and space for bikes.
Upstairs, there is a shower room (with a toilet and sink) and a big bathroom (with a bath/shower, toilet, and sink), so no queues in the morning! There's also shared storage and separate washing and drying machines on that floor too.
The area 🏙️
Location-wise the house is in Southwark (SE17 2JW), just off the Old Kent Road, so it's a bit quieter but still super well-connected. Elephant & Castle and Kennington Tube stations (Northern Line) are both about a 20-minute walk. Plus, there are loads of buses nearby, and amenities like Lidl, Tesco, a post office, doctors, dentists, a library, and a park are all really easy to get to. The property is managed by a family-run company.
The People 👥
Looking for a friendly and respectful housemate to join this welcoming home! The house currently comprises three professionals in their early thirties: Eva (software developer, enjoys an active lifestyle and travel), Steven (works in publishing with a passion for the arts and travel), and Ivan (a dancer/instructor keen on fitness and films). They enjoy a balance of independent living and social time together, from movie nights to BBQs. Our diverse household speaks French, German, Spanish, and Italian.
