Hello! I'm off travelling for three months so we're looking for a subletter to join our beautiful 3-storey Victorian house near Elephant and Castle (the room will be available from the beginning of June to the end of August).

Your room would be the one on the top floor - bright attic room with large windows that looks west/south-west. There's a large sunny bathroom with bath and shower that you would share with one other housemate, whose room is on the floor below (the other housemates have an en-suite bathroom). On the ground floor there's a large, fantastically well-equipped kitchen, a living room that is open plan with the kitchen and then a sitting room at the front with huge sofa - we don't tend to use that room for much apart from watching films and storing bikes. There's also a downstairs loo and a pretty little garden out the back that has a table, chairs, BBQ, peach and apple trees and the like. Currently planning to add some tomato plants, which you'd be able to enjoy over the summer.

It's in a quiet, leafy street in the Liverpool Grove conservation area about 10-15 minutes walk from Kennington (Northern line) and Elephant and Castle (Northern and Bakerloo lines plus overland railway station) and about 3 minutes from Walworth Road (which has buses running to everywhere in the known universe). So the west end, the city, the south bank, Borough market, Bermondsey, Kennington, Camberwell etc are all in easy striking distance. This is particularly true if you have a bike - most of the places above are just minutes away by bike and we tend to cycle everywhere.

The house is also about 50 metres from East Street market - which is on every day except Monday and has everything you could possibly want, from jellied eels and fruit and vegetables to cut-price dresses and plants. There's a very large and recently renovated park down the road (Burgess Park) which is a three minute jog away and has tennis courts, a lake, a garden cafe and lots of running and cycling paths. And a BMX track. The house is no smoking but people have been known to smoke in the garden.

The rent is a bargain - 550 pounds per month for rent and all bills, including council tax, utilities, wifi and the cost of our cleaner Edyta.

You'd be sharing with Charlotte (works in a charity), Luca and Ania (a filmaker/textile designer couple). If it makes any difference then between us we speak English, Italian, Polish, German, French, Turkish, and a bit of Norwegian. We tend to be out several evenings a week and away some weekends but if we're all in then we'll usually eat together. We're looking for someone friendly, fun and reliable in their 20s or 30s who's up for sharing the cooking occasionally and who could be a friend as well as a housemate over the summer.
