Household / About us
You'll be joining a small, friendly household of two: Me (41F) — an architect, artist and educator — and our current lodger (71F), a Pilates teacher who also works in film, theatre and performing arts. It's a house full of creative, independent people with interesting things going on.
We get on well and enjoy the odd chat, but we also value our own space (and there is enough of it!). No pressure to socialise or fit in, and no awkwardness if you just want to say hello and head to your room. Equally, we can also both be very chatty, so will enlotsjoy the odd chat! We do keep unusual hours sometimes, not the standard 9-5 with some work from home.
The living room and garden are shared spaces for everyone to enjoy whenever you like. We keep the house running smoothly with a few simple shared standards around cleanliness and tidiness, so the space stays pleasant for everyone.
We are one vegetarian and one meat eater. The kitchen sees plenty of home cooking (just flagging this in case a meat-free kitchen is important to you).
About you
I'm looking for a female professional, someone who appreciates a peaceful and respectful home. It's cosy and I hope to find someone who values that. You won't bring many guests, although do do the occasional dinner party or BBQ is very reasonable. It would be nice if you are a creative or work in the creative fields, but of course not essential. If you are into wellbeing, health, good food - also great :)
Practicalities
Bills included in the rent.
Move in date and duration of stay—flexible.
Some additional storage may be available in the attic if required.
One heads-up: we have a young neighbour who can be a little noisy early mornings. Doesn't bother us (heavy sleepers or pop in earplugs)—worth knowing if you're sensitive to early noise.
As this is a lodging arrangement, not a tenancy, the guest policy and other terms will be agreed via a Lodger Licence Agreement, signed on move-in.
