Large, bright double room in relaxed family home – £750 incl. bills

I’m looking for a friendly, considerate female lodger for a large, bright, furnished double room in my family home in Willesden Green.

I’m a professional single mum with two boys, aged 9 and 12, who live with me half the time. We’ve happily shared our home with lodgers for many years. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, but we’re also quite independent and like home to feel calm and relaxed.

The room

The bedroom is large, comfortable and very private. It doesn’t adjoin any of the other bedrooms, so it’s generally quiet and feels quite separate from the rest of the sleeping area.

It’s currently furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, desk, shelving and bedside table, but I am happy to remove anything you don’t need.

The house

The house is a spacious Victorian end-of-terrace on a residential street.

There’s a large eat-in kitchen with plenty of room to cook and sit, a separate laundry room with washer and dryer, and a small garden which is lovely in the summer.

There isn’t a shared living room — I keep that as family space for the children — so the room would particularly suit someone fairly independent who enjoys having their own space and is happy using the large kitchen as the main shared area.

We also have a cleaner who comes every week to clean all the shared areas and bathroom, so the communal spaces are kept clean and tidy.

There is fibre broadband throughout the house.

We have a few animals too: a friendly cat and two house rabbits (the rabbits stay in the family living room).

About us

This is a friendly family home rather than a traditional sociable house share. I enjoy a chat, but there’s no expectation to socialise, and everyone is free to do their own thing.

I’m ideally looking for someone quiet, considerate and fairly independent, who has their own routine and enjoys coming home to a peaceful, comfortable space.

When the boys are here there is naturally some normal family activity, and occasionally friends or playdates, so it would suit someone who is comfortable around children. The boys are only here half the time, though, and the bedroom is separate from ours, so there are also plenty of quieter periods.

Location

We are really well connected:

* Around 8 minutes’ walk to Willesden Green (Jubilee line, Zone 2)
* Around 5 minutes to Dollis Hill station
* A few minutes from buses including the 98, 52, 260 and 206
* Shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs and the library are just a few minutes away
* Two lovely parks are within easy walking distance
* Queen’s Park and Kensal Rise are around 10 minutes away by bus
* West Hampstead is nearby for easy connections across London

£800 per month including bills and weekly cleaning of the shared areas and bathroom.

I’d also consider a Monday–Friday let at a reduced rate.
