Description
Hello! I’m opening up the master bedroom in my much-loved, character-filled flat in one of Edinburgh’s most coveted neighbourhoods - just a 5-minute stroll to the Meadows and about 25 minutes into the city centre. There are beautiful green spaces, excellent coffee spots, and a genuinely soul-soothing atmosphere all around.
A bit about the space:
This is a home with heart. It’s full of colour, plants, artwork, and cosy textures (yes, there are fluffy sheepskin rugs). The available room is a generous master bedroom with a double bed, a gorgeous antique wardrobe, and a lovely open view. The living room doubles as a guest space for visiting family or friends. It’s an old flat with wooden floorboards that occasionally have a mind of their own, but it’s warm, bright, and truly a haven.
The practical bits:
£820 per month, all bills included
Wi-Fi, washing machine, dishwasher, gas cooker & heating
No pets, no couples, no smoking
No parking available
Box room for storage
Available for short-term initially to see if it’s a good fit for both of us
About me
I’m a 45-year-old female therapist and digital artist. I spend my days in very people-focused work, which I absolutely love, but it means that home needs to be a peaceful space where I can recharge. With all my previous flatmates I have shared this understanding beautifully, and I would love to continue that atmosphere of quiet, comfort, and gentle coexistence.
I’m social in my own way - friends and family do visit, and sometimes we have dinners or guests staying in the living room, but this is definitely an 80/20 home: 80% peaceful, 20% sociable.
Who this would suit
The flat tends to work best for someone who enjoys a calm, restorative home. Perhaps a mature Master’s or PhD student, researcher, lecturer, writer, or any quiet professional who thrives in an environment that isn’t a hub of socialising.
Someone who values the same diurnal rhythm is key - quiet hours start at 10pm - I'm an early to bed person.
And this part is important:
Evening cooking needs to happen before 7:30/8pm.
My bedroom is close to the kitchen, and late-night cooking sounds and smells wake me easily. If your lifestyle involves cooking at 8–10pm, we simply won’t be compatible, and that’s absolutely okay- better to know from the start.
If you’d like to know more, feel free to send a message.
Please tell me a bit about yourself when inquiring - your routine, work rhythm, how you like to live at home, and anything else you think might matter. It saves us both time and helps us sense if the basics are aligned.
Monika
