Description
After a 6 month internship, one of our lodgers is moving back to England. From early November (likely closer to the beginning of the month), we will have a double bedroom with an en-suite and single shower, in Dalkeith, an 8 minute walk away from the bus stop to the Edinburgh city centre (routes 48 &3) available to rent. Travel time to Princes Street ranges from 35-50mins depending on the time of day.
There is a train station that travels to central Edinburgh or the Scottish Borders that is a 7 min drive or 30 minute walk away. The journey from Eskbank to Waverley station is 20 minutes.
We are a family of 3, my 16 and 13 year old children and I, and our lodger. She is 35 years old and a recent graduate from a Masters at Napier University. We are looking to share our home with a single female. We would prefer a student for council tax reasons but a professional is fine, too, on a short or long term basis. International students are especially welcome, as we have hosted many students from other countries and I have both lived and enjoy travelling abroad.
Utility bills, wifi, council tax, a double bed, a study desk, a bedside table, a built-in wardrobe, and ensuite bathroom, as well as access to the kitchen, dining, living room, garden room and garage gym included for £725 with all sundries (toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet bleach, cleaning supplies, cling film etc.). Short lets considered at £200 a week. The security deposit is £500.
The house is large, modern, and spacious. It's close to amenities and located beside a large wooded area, connected to Newbattle Abbey and golf course; perfect for long walks should you wish.
Space to park a car, access to a large chest freezer and a large garage for storage also available for bicycles.
We are looking for someone considerate, sociable, and tidy. You would need to be able to tolerate teenagers and like dogs. Both the dog and the kids are pretty decent most of the time. We would need you to have a good sense of humour and be someone who contributes to keeping the household clean and tidy.
While it's certainly not a party house, it is not a particularly quiet house either. The kids are social, energetic, funny and generally well-mannered. We like to listen to music, potter around in the garden, goof around and occasionally have friends/family around, and we would hope that whoever joins us would feel free to do the same, and feel at home here.
Please get in touch if you have any questions and references are available on request
