Description
Hi, I’m Ross! I’m looking for a short-term lodger to take the bedroom shown. There’s potentially a second room available too, if I can get it into a more respectable state - it’s currently being used for storage eek!
🏠 About the room and flat:
The flat is a spacious 3-bedroom maisonette, with an upper and lower floor. There’s one main bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink, plus a second toilet upstairs. All the windows are double-glazed, and the flat has a combi-boiler.
Your bedroom (excuse the decor, it was the previous owners!) is furnished with a double-bed, bedside table, drawers and a storage cupboard. I can also get a desk for it if you want one.
The windows are all double-glazed and there is a radiator on the wall.
The rest of the flat has a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, gas hob/oven and washing machine, plus a living room with a dining table, sofa and TV.
All the bills are included in the price (energy, WIFI etc).
The WIFI can be a bit meh sometimes to be honest. It’s fine for streaming movies but I sometimes have issues when working from home on video calls. If you have a heavy reliance on the internet for work etc then this may not be the best fit for you at the moment. I am working on improving this/changing provider.
📍About the area:
The flat is in central Stockbridge next to the Water of Leith. It’s a super nice neighbourhood and the building is located away from the street so it’s not noisy at night with traffic. There are a several small supermarkets a 5-minute walk away, with bigger supermarkets (Lidl and Tesco) a 15-minute walk away. There’s also a bakery nearby that always has huge queues if bread is your thing!
There is free resident parking if you have a car.
There are bus routes on the street nearby, but I'll be honest that public transport isn't quite as extensive as in some other parts of Edinburgh. If you’re a big bus person, it would be worth checking if the nearby bus routes work for you. The city centre is around a 15-minute walk away, with excellent bus and train connections from there.
There is a communal bike shed in the building you can store a bicycle though I don’t have a key for this – if you’re interested, I can enquire and I’m sure we can make it work.
👋 About me
You would be living with me, and potentially one other lodger. I bought the flat in December 2025 and I’m a professional working 9-5pm. Outside of work, I like living an active, healthy lifestyle. I play racquet sports frequently (squash, and more recently hopping on the padel trend!). I like a good hike as well as self-propelled long-distance adventures when I can find the time!
I've lived in a few different places and countries and have shared homes with people from lots of different backgrounds, so I'm very comfortable with communal living.
I eat a vegan diet though not overly precious about it, and you can eat whatever you want in the flat!
I'd describe myself as easy going, tidy and respectful of other people's privacy. I'm happy to have a chat and socialise, but equally understand that people sometimes just want to come home and do their own thing.
🧳About you:
I think the flat would particularly suit someone who is:
- Living in Edinburgh short-term
- Moving to the city and looking for a temporary base
- Working in Edinburgh for a fixed period
- Looking for somewhere relaxed and comfortable rather than a big party flat
I've lived in Edinburgh for a few years, so I'm happy to provide recommendations for walks, pubs, restaurants, things to do, or generally help you get settled into the city.
If you're interested, send me a message with a little bit about yourself, what brings you to Edinburgh and roughly how long you're looking to stay.
I know that was a big wall of text but thanks for reading and look forward to hearing from you! :)
