Description
Room coming available in our funky wee cottage October! Happy, friendly household, looking for equally happy, friendly 3rd person / second lodger. Looking for someone down to earth and who likes a chat, but absolutely not a party house. Neither of us drink alcohol, more into tea these days!
The house is a lovely, stone cottage with extensive garden and good privacy (rural / semi-rural, depending on where you come from!). The garden is currently a bit out of control as I have been away for the summer (expectation management compared to photos!). I have lived here, on and off with lodgers, for the last 9 years, sometimes as a 2, sometimes a 3. It is a quiet, friendly, adult share and we also have Sof the dog, who is very friendly, cuddly and lovely and will take all the belly rubs you will give her!
Good sleep is a priority for life so we a quiet house at night time. Good communication and boundaries are a must and I have good relationships with the people who live here and have made friends from renting over the years.
Into mushrooms, foraging, gardening, climbing, music and interested in most things! I am currently working and training as a paramedic and also work with kids and adults in the outdoors. I have been told the house has lots of character with a hint of whacky and I am perhaps a bit of a forest pixie! Josh, the lodger who is staying, is currently working near the airport and is a chatty, friendly guy!
All communal spaces in the house are shared, i. e. kitchen (the social space), lounge and main bathroom. Anyone wanting to get involved in the gardening would also be MOST welcome! I have a polytunnel and outdoor beds and more space than I can manage to upkeep as veg beds on my own!
Location is approx. 10 mins outside of the Edinburgh ring road by car. Very close to the EICA Ratho climbing centre (4 min drive). Buses into Edinburgh leave from two nearby stops, the closest is a 10 minute walk. The train station is 5 mins by car and has free parking. Living here with a car is best in my opinion, for getting to local shops easily, but I have had people stay and commute by foot / bike / bus no problem. You will have your own parking space on the private driveway.
The room (2) is a nice, sunny, south facing room to the rear of the house. Room 1 has a double bed, desk and a large, built in wardrobe. Room 2 has a single bed with a small desk, dresser and large, built in wardrobe.
Please message me with your interest, situation and intended length of stay and we can have a video call if it looks like it could be a match.
Many thanks!
Jen.
