Semi-rural stone cottage west of Edinburgh

Friendly, apparently mildly wacky, semi-rural stone cottage near Kirknewton, just outside the ringroad of Edinburgh. I have owned and lived in the cottage for about 10 years, sometimes with lodgers, sometimes without. It's a lovely place to be with a great garden, loads of space, and loads to do (like mowing the grass)!! The garden now looks pretty different from in the photo - we lost some trees in a storm, built a stage to host a money free festival and planted a wildflower garden which is now a big winter mess... I have a polytunnel and plenty of space for someone to have for a project if they wanted. Veggie growers welcome!

Sof the dog also lives here. She is very friendly, very nice, very important and LOVES cuddles and people! Kindness to animals is essential.

Looking for friendly, sociable types that also like a bit of tranquility. Not a party or drinking house, quiet at nighttime. Non drinkers and T totallers welcome! Chatting in the kitchen is the main social, always up for a shared meal but not fixed. No short term lodgers (less than 6 months). A doggo could be welcome if it's the right fit - Sof would love a pal - but sadly cats are a no as Sof still wants to eat them. No couples I'm afraid after some poor experiences.

Ideal for commuting to Edinburgh or Glasgow and very close to the beautiful Pentlands, where I work for a charity. I am self employed in other areas and have just qualified as a Paramedic, so am very present in the house when here, then gone for periods of time with a variable life structure!
