Description
Hello!
I'm a 34 year old woman looking for a new housemate to move in with me in this large cosy rental in NR2, from November onwards. I have been living here for a few years now and had a couple of housemates since, the most recent just moving out.
As you can see in the photos, what would be your bedroom is quite large and spacious, and is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, desk and shelves (you could of course move things around if you wanted to.) There is an open plan kitchen and dining room, not your typical Norwich terraced house layout!
Although it is a three bedroom property, the third is used as a spare room/office space, so you would be living with just me, and my adorable senior cat! She is my pride and joy, therefore, being comfortable with cats is a must. She is very friendly and cuddly, low maintenance, and I wouldn't expect you to look after her for me, unless you want to! I do sometimes take the odd trip away so I might ask if you are happy to feed her and give her some love whilst I'm gone. No other pets are allowed unfortunately.
There are two bathrooms, I tend to stick to using the upstairs one as it is next to my bedroom and you could therefore store your stuff in the downstairs one and we could essentially have our own. The upstairs one does have a bath so of course you would be welcome to use that too.
There is unfortunately no private garden but there is a small courtyard attached to the side entrance of the house, making it a nice place to sit in good weather. Smokers are okay, I just ask that you don't smoke in the house, instead take it outdoors.
As a vegan, it would be preferrable to have somebody vegan/veggie move in too. I am also environmentally conscious and like to use refill shops for as much as my household items as possible, creating as little waste as I can. Somebody who is on board with this would be encouraged. Typically we would then just buy our own food bits.
Women/NB/trans people are preferred. It is a queer and neurodivergent friendly household given that I and most of the people I have over are in these brackets.
I work in lesiure/ as a fitness instructor, which are not typical 9-5 hours so I'm in and out at different times throughout the week whether for work or life activities outside of the house.
I'm a generally chill and relaxed person to live with, who likes to be social and sometimes have friends over. I have many other interests and hobbies that we could discuss at length :)
When home I use the front room a lot to hang/watch tv etc in, as my own bedroom is small and I have no TV in there. It would be really nice to live with someone equally relaxed that I could hang out with, have dinners/watch tv etc! Saying that I also really appreciate alone time, and do treat my home as my sanctuary and safe space. I really value respect of communal areas, both doing our part to make it feel clean, tidy and comfortable for all.
The rent is £550 pm and with bills of council tax, energy, water and wifi on top, it comes to roughly £720 per month each. Rent goes out on the 8th with the term starting from 9th, so the house would be available to move into from 9th December. All the bills plus rent are set up to go out of my account at the beginning of the month so previous housemates have just set a payment up to me at the end of the month and all payments are taken directly from my me, making things easier. There would be a deposit to pay to the agency of roughly £400.
It's a nice area, with plenty of shops, pubs and parks nearby, and in walking distance of town and the UEA campus. It's pretty busy during the day with schools and businesses open on this and surrounding roads however it does get nice and quiet at night. It is on-street permit parking so if you have a car you would need to buy a permit from the council.
If it sounds like your vibe and you think we might be a good fit, please get in touch and we can arrange a meet up/visit. Let me know if you have any further questions! Thanks :)
