Charming Workers Country Cottage

Semidetached 3 bed country cottage in a quiet village location between York and Hull. My house is a 10 minute drive from the Yorkshire Wolds, 22 miles to the centre of York and Hull the other way. It is a 15 minute drive to the A63 which has easy access to the motorways making it ideally placed for Leeds and beyond. York University is 18 miles away and York St Johns is just a mile or two further. I am ideally placed for Bishop Burton College and Hull University Teaching Hospital.

The house is surrounded by beautiful countryside, nature reserves and woodlands. There are lots of villages and great village pubs within the market towns of Pocklington and Market Weighton just 3 miles each way and Beverely 10 miles away. There are country walks straight from the door and if you're into running there are some fab lanes and fields to run.

My house has two living rooms, two bathrooms, a utility, conservatory and three bedrooms. Kitchen is shared and while I'm a vegetarian, I'm happy for you cook meat as long as you keep the kitchen clean and wipe any meat splashes. My oven is always clean and I'd like to keep it that way. In the winter I light my Aga and do all my cooking on that but don't worry I'm more than happy to show you how to use it, it's easy really!

You will be sharing with myself, my dog and cat. I'd like to find someone who is a professional. Someone who is respectful of privacy and space and reasonably quiet but also happy to share a meal and a chat. You must like pets as I have a dog and a cat. I also have chickens but they're in the garden.

If you are working in the area and just need somewhere to lay your head during the week that's fine with me. If you are looking for accommodation while you are seconded from work and you need to live here 24/7 for a while, that's ok too. I'm happy to take short lets so if this is what you need, it’s not a problem.

I sometimes have friends over to stay for the weekend. During these times you will need to share the bathroom. Sometimes my friends bring their dogs too so if this isn't ok with you then my house won't be suitable for you.

I work from home during the day and in the evenings. I generally don't sit down until around 8pm each night and when I do I like to relax in front of the TV or read a book. I get up at 6am but love a quiet lay in on Sundays.

The double room has a clothes rail, chest of drawers and blanket box. The rent will include all bills but if my internet costs rise due to you downloading things we will need to chat about this. I don't download anything, I don't actually understand it. All I know is that I never run out of data!!!

Included in the rent will be electricity, hot water, heating, council tax and landline, yes I still have one as sometimes I need it out here. That said the internet is pretty good though not as fast as in York so if you want lightening wifi/broadband speeds forget it, though it's never prevented me from working from home!
