Why Dunnington?
It's a proper village, not just a commuter suburb - a historic settlement recorded in the Domesday Book, with roots going back to Anglo-Saxon times. There's a good pub, The Cross Keys, plus Dunnington Sports Club which also runs as a bar, and a couple of cosy cafés if you're after a coffee and something sweet. For downtime, there are football, cricket and rugby teams, plus music and drama groups, a gardening club and a history society - an easy way to meet people outside your course. The Dunnington Sports and Social Club has some of the best squash facilities in Yorkshire, including three glass-backed courts, and there's a play park, plus Hagg Wood and Hassacarr Nature Reserve nearby for walks and green space.
