Description
My partner and I live in the wonderful community village, Chalgrove, South East Oxfordshire and are looking for a relaxed lodger to join a friendly couple with a dog and two cats.
Charlie, our 20 something gap year lodger would be more happy to give you an idea on what it is like to share with us, if you would like a view.
Chalgrove is a great place to live. It would attract someone who enjoys a quiet, rural setting with red kite in the sky, but also those who would enjoy the three lively pubs just a short walk away. We are also a short walk from a range of shops including a post office, two general stores, a delicatessen/florist and a pharmacy.
Our bungalow is like a Tardis, having been extended with a conservatory and large utility. The garden on the corner plot has been landscaped to include a large patio (hot tub comes out in the summer!) and a fishpond (with hungry koi who love being hand fed!) Great place for a bbq serenaded by me and my guitar!
There is a bus which goes from Watlington to the centre of Oxford via Cowley (Brooks uni is a possibility) although to be fair, life would be easier if you have a car. With a car (or motorbike, plenty of space in the garage next to my Triumph!), Chalgrove is within an easy commute of 20 to 30 minutes to places like Headington, Wallingford, Didcot, Culham, Wheatley and Henley. Watlington and Benson are about 10 to 15 minutes away as is the M40, so a relatively easy run to places like High Wycombe and Bicester or for those who need to access West London.
With two driveways, and cornering onto a cul-de-sac, parking is not a problem.
I moved in late 2020 since when I have renovated the house with new kitchen, carpets throughout, got rid of chip paper everywhere and plastered and renewed all paintwork. A new wetroom was finished last year.
If you fancy the sound of this wonderful place to live give me a ring and if things sound about right, come to visit us!
I have said yes to short term, but preference will be given to someone who needs a place longer term.
Kind regards,
Vanessa
