Description
Single room available to rent in Barton, Headington, Oxford - just off the Ring Road and close to the hospitals! Sharing with one housemate (myself) and one cat.
Breakdown of monthly costs:
• Base rent: £825 pcm
• Share of council tax: £133 pcm (Band D)
• Bills (broadband, gas, electricity, Thames water): Around £82-£100 pcm
The house: Huge downstairs shared living room and good size kitchen, enclosed garden, two parking spaces (one roadside, one behind the house under cover). One downstairs loo, one ensuite, and one big bathroom.
The room is a decent single or small double size (either way, occupancy of one). The arrangement has been that the person with this room gets exclusive use of the larger bathroom and most of the tiny 'box' bedroom as storage or a study (on the floorplan, the bedroom is Bedroom 2 and the storage/box room is Bedroom 3). There is a ton of storage, including under-stairs storage.
The room is mostly unfurnished (just a desk and chest of drawers), however please chat to me if there's anything you would need/want, I'm sure we can arrange an IKEA trip or delivery.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, washer-dryer, large fridge and freezer, gas hob, electric oven. Everything has been well maintained.
About me: I'm Ashley (she/her) and I work as a librarian at Oxford Brookes. I'm an American who has been been living in Oxford about 5 years now, non-smoker, and enjoy HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) and running in my spare time.
My cat is a 1.5 year old named Kira (she/her). She's primarily indoors and may be shy at first, but will warm up in time. Also non-smoker (as far as I know she hasn't smoked catnip!), Kira likes head scritches, treats, playing, and is generally tidy.
Connections: right next to the A40, connections to London are easy. Approximately 10 minute cycle from the JR, Churchill, and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, so it's really convenient to anyone working there. Bus routes into Oxford every 5-8 minutes from a short walk away, there's an X3 bus stop also a short walk away. Headington shops are in walking distance and is serviced by every bus route.
No parking permits are required for either of the car spaces, or for visitors. There are several lovely green spaces next to the house.
This is a LGBTQ+ friendly house (most of my friends are LGBTQ+) and I'm happy to chat if you have any questions.
