Description

Seeking a housemate to join a 32-year-old female professional in a shared a two-bedroom rented house near Oxford train station. Please read the information below for full details. If you're interested, please send me a message giving some info about yourself, what you do, and what you're looking for.

Location
---------
The house is ideally located for commuters at just over 5 mins walk from the train station. It also has great access to nature - it's right by the river and a lovely, leafy tow path which leads down to Port Meadow (15 mins walk). It's also only 15 mins walk down the canal to Jericho's many pubs and cinema! For groceries, there's a small Sainsbury's, an ALDI and a Waitrose within walking distance. There's residents' parking and visitors' parking on the street via permits.

The house
-----------
The room available is a small double bedroom. You would also have use of the spacious office, which has additional storage and is an ideal private space for working from home.

The house has two bathrooms, a good-sized cosy living room, a kitchen with modern appliances, and a small back yard.

The house is part-furnished. The landlord has provided a wardrobe and a double bedframe in the bedroom and some additional storage in the office. A mattress, desk, and office chair are not provided. I have a basic folding table and chair I would be happy for you to use as a desk set-up if needed. I have kitted out the living room (as pictured) so no additional furniture is needed there.

About me
----------
I'm a busy, 32-year-old female professional working in environmental policy with lots of outside interests, including creative writing, folk singing, and hiking. I also love to swim, sauna, and cook veggie food. I do a mixture of working from home and commuting.

My ideal housemate would be a fellow female professional. I'm looking for someone who is friendly and sociable in communal areas, but respectful of their housemate's space, especially at busy times and during the working day. Ideally, I'd like to live with someone who's also veggie/vegan or at least that way inclined, but it's not a deal-breaker!

Timings for moving in
----------------------
My current housemate is ideally looking to move out in December to move in with her partner. The move-in date can be somewhat flexible in conversation with the current housemate - but not realistically before November. The letting agent/landlord will also run reference checks before you can move in.

Approx rent/bills
-----------------
Current rent* - £850 per person per month excluding bills
Deposit* - 5 weeks rent per person
Council tax band D - approx £112 per person per month
Other bills - roughly £85 per person per month

*PLEASE NOTE: the advertised rent (£850 pcm excluding bills) and the deposit are based on the current rent but the landlord may decide to increase it upon the swapping of housemates. I am currently awaiting information from the landlord on whether it will change.
