Long-Stay / PhD Rooms - Sept 2026

Hello and thank you for your interest in our beautiful room. The property benefits from a cul-de-sac position so no through traffic. The room is fully furnished, providing a comfy single bed with memory foam mattress, bedside table, large stand alone wardrobe, in addition to a large built in wardrobe with shelving, under-bed storage, a full sized desk which has drawers and shelves underneath and a leather swivel office chair. In terms of soft furnishings there are dimming ceiling lights, desk lamp, large mirror, magnetic notice board/magnets, thermal black out curtains and a fan for warm nights.

There is a fully equipped kitchen and utility room. The bathroom has a twin headed power shower, sink and toilet. There are 3 bathrooms/toilets in total so the one you will be using is easily accessible.

The house is not one for big parties, more a chilled, cosy home environment. We are a happy and friendly household who enjoy doing some things together when time allows - we equally respect each others personal space too 😊

The property is within walking distance of the RUH and the city centre. There is also a great selection of local shops to include a bookshop, green grocer, butcher, pharmacy, cafes, pubs, restaurants, takeaways, Opticians and hairdressers/barbers on Moorland Road - all of which are within a 10 minute walk from the house.

The house is situated in a green leafy position with large green open spaces either end of the street leading to the cycle path and twin tunnels leading to the hope an anchor where you can stop off and get some refreshments.

Oldfield Park train station is a 10 minute walk away with bus stops to the city and both universities a few minutes walk away.

There is also plenty of free parking available at the property so no need for costly parking permits. There is a good sized garden with plenty of seating for outdoor eating in warmer climes. The house is modern, light, and airy - overlooking a small woodland area that we also own and we regularly hear our resident owl and other birds.

We have a resident dog at the house so someone who likes dogs would be great! He is very friendly and well behaved and he loves to be made a fuss of! He will be the first to greet you in the morning and the last to bid you goodnight.

We are looking for someone with a happy demeanour who is able to communicate well with other members of the household in a mature manner and is proactive in sharing cleaning tasks.

Additionally, I work from home - my role requires confidentiality so I’m looking for someone who does not work from home.
