Description
Spare room available sharing with just myself and an elderly pet bird.
A decent sized room with shelving, storage drawers, desk and a hanging wardrobe rail.
Lovely views to the back garden.
Black out curtain and blinds for those light sleepers!
LOCATION
House is located about 5 minutes walk to the train station and 15 mins walk to town. There is on street parking with no restrictions unless on nearby single yellow lines. Small cars recommended.
FACILITIES
Storage in the kitchen is very tight as well as the kitchen. If you aren’t a big kitchen user, then this could be for you!! ;)
There is only one bathroom downstairs between us.
TV
Currently no TV licence which means we can't do iPlayer or anything live online including YouTube. I can get a license on request.
Very fast fibre internet, good for streaming.
WASHING MACHINE
Currently the washing machine is not working and waiting to get this repaired. If you're ok with laundrettes, that makes life easier. The house is small and we'll need to not clash on drying clothes.
ME:
I will be a live-in landlord and the house is not big so the downstairs space will be shared. I am a musician so there will be some noise on Tuesday and Sunday evenings up until 10pm.
I work mostly from home and also teach music in the daytime.

WHEN CONTACTING ME:
This might save a bit of time but also I am more likely to respond if you tell me more about yourself. Here are example questions I would be asking. If you can answer some of these in your first message to me, I would be grateful and this can speed up the process.. I might also arrange a video meeting if you live a long distance away and unable to view the room.
Sample questions:
Why are you looking for a room, and why in this area?
Where are you currently living, and why are you leaving?
What do you understand about being a lodger compared to a flatmate?
What do you do for work or study? Do you work from home?
What’s your typical weekday and weekend routine?
How long are you looking to stay?
Do you have references from a previous landlord or employer?
Would you be able to provide proof of income or a guarantor if needed?
Do you smoke, have pets, or have any allergies to pets?
General & Lifestyle Fit
How do you like to spend your evenings and weekends?
Do you cook often?
What has worked well in your past living situations? What hasn’t?
Routine:
What time do you usually get up and go to bed?
What time do you usually need the bathroom in the morning?
Do you have friends or family nearby who visit often?
Are there any habits or preferences that are important for you in a living situation?
