Located in the West End of Barry, just a 10 minute walk from Barry train station and bus stops, the Goodsheds, and 20 minute walk from Barry Island. Easy access to Cardiff and wider South Wales via car and public transport.
What's Included?
Ground Floor: Shared living room with large TV screen, open plan kitchen and diner (dishwasher, gas oven and stove), small utility space (washing machine), full bathroom (bath and shower), and patio/garden area.
First Floor: 3 double bedrooms (Front bedroom (mine), second and third bedrooms (which fits a double bed and a small unit) with sea views. As I am a single occupant, the rent includes use of Bedrooms 2 and 3 which will be fully private (other than access to the boiler to operate the heating).
Second Floor: Double attic bedroom/home office, which I would be happy for you to utilise as a spare bedroom (like I do), if you have guests.
Furnishings: You would be welcome to bring your own furniture, however I am more than happy to provide a double bed, chest of drawers, and clothes rail. I will likely also have a small sofa, and a desk which you would be welcome to have.
Parking: There is free on street parking, and you will usually find a space outside the house.
About Me:
Regarding myself, I have my own business, so often not in the house other than evenings and weekends. I predominantly work in coffee shops, or Co-working spaces in South Wales, Monday to Friday.
It would be nice to share with someone who is sociable, but also likes their own space (I love my own space as much as I love a chat!) I am flexible with roommates, so if you're not a talker, that is more than okay, I simply expect the house to remain clean and tidy most of the time. I would also be open to a couple, which would make the rent to £450 per person (£900 for a couple), and bills split three ways.
I like to have a fairly social house, so sometimes host dinner parties, sleepovers, and occasional parties, which my housemate is welcome to join. This will of course be communicated, and I am more than happy for you to treat my home like your own, including hosting, painting/decorating your space etc. within reason and with communication.
Whist I am open to pets, unfortunately due to my previous housemate, this does not include dogs. I would be open to you having your own pets. If you do not have pets, I will be looking to adopt 2 cats in Spring/Summer, who I will care for. You will be responsible for your own pets, if you have any.
I would like to meet my potential housemate for a coffee/glass of wine before agreeing on moving in.
Current housemate is looking to move out between now and March, so I would be looking for a March move-in date. If the housemate has any trouble with their new property, they will be moving into the attic, and rent will be temporarily reduced and bills will be split temporarily between the three of us.
All bills (Water, Gas, Electric, Council Tax, and Wi-Fi) will be divided equally between housemates.
