We’re looking for a lodger to join our family home on the edge of Taff's Well, a lovely village just north of Cardiff.
My husband and I have three children ages 6, 9 and 11 so we are looking for someone who is comfortable with the idea of living in a family home, but with a greater level of privacy than most homes offer, due to the unique nature of this 19th century cottage.
Your spaces:
* Two adjacent rooms (both of these rooms would be for your sole use - one as a living space as we would like to keep our family living spaces separate).
* One bedroom has a king size bed with a very comfortable mattress and four drawers underneath the bed for additional storage, a chest of drawers, bedside cabinet, two lamps and a small hanging rail.
* The second smaller bedroom would be your own private living space so that you would have a quiet space to retreat to beyond your bedroom. Currently there is only a desk in this room and we would be happy to furnish this room with a sofa bed, arm chair and wardrobe if required.
* Private shower room with toilet, sink and heated towel rail. Again, this would be for your sole use as the family bathroom is on the other side of the house.
* Shared kitchen and dining space.
* Shared garden
* Council tax band F (bills included in rent)
This is a unique five bedroom property that used to be two separate cottages. The upstairs between the two cottages is not connected, so one side of the house has 3 bedrooms and the other side has 2 bedrooms, separated by thick stone walls. With unspoilt views of Garth Mountain and a sprawling garden, this is a really beautiful spot. There's woodland walks on our doorstep, and good transportation links to the city centre. There's a bus stop a 3 minute walk from our house and Taff's Well train station is a 13 minute walk away. We are also located just off the M4 for easy access to West Wales and the A470 for the city centre and Brecon Beacons.
The train line runs parallel to our garden so if you are particularly sensitive to noise, this is something to be aware of. The first train goes past at 5.15am and the last train at night is 11.45pm.
Rent is £700 per month for single occupancy including bills (gas, electricity, broadband, council tax & TV license all included).
Dual occupancy is £950 a month.
A bit about us:
You would be living with Hannah (Works in Admin) and John (works in renewable energy consultancy), our three children (aged 6, 9 &11) and Fern the cat. With the children in mind, we would require you to have a DBS check in place before you move in, which we would pay for.
We enjoy cooking, baking, gardening and exploring the many beautiful places South Wales has to offer!
Our house is an ongoing renovation project so comes with some imperfections but is a really lovely home.
