Description
We're a queer household looking for someone likeminded and considerate to share our home with. Rather than renting a room, we’re wanting to find people who are looking to co-create a calm and cared for space. Definitely wanting it to feel like your home, so finding someone who fits energetically and has a similar outlook on what they want is important.
We’re communally-minded whilst respecting each other's need for space. We’re looking for someone who values that and their need for independence too. That being said, we are social and value connecting with each other in very low-pressured ways, sharing the occasional meal, watching a film etc. We have guests around for dinner and to stay but we always give each other a heads up.
At the moment, both my current housemates are moving out. I’m (Elisha she/her) looking to find someone that I connect well with, who can then have input on finding another housemate. There would be 3 of us in total. Would be open to a cat moving in for the right person. Definitely not here for Terfs or Tories, enjoy home-making, nature and herbalism, photography, eating good food. Both rooms available are large doubles. The room shown at the minute is not one of the rooms that will be available (they’re bigger), it’s just making time for the Spareroom admin.
If you're interested, let me know a little more about yourself and we can move from there. Any questions, just ask.
The House:
The house is generally light and peaceful, we have a cleaning rota for larger tasks and clean as we go for smaller things. Someone who is keen to contribute to the upkeep of the house and who would find this suits their way of living would be ideal. We also have monthly check-ins to make sure we’re maintaining good communication about the house and making collective changes if they’re needed. Whilst we are communally-minded, sharing the cost of household items such as cleaning supplies, salt, oil etc. we buy our own food separately and each has a cupboard to store our own food.
Generally throughout the house there is space to store your things in communal areas, including indoor bike storage. We’ve furnished the house, but we will need a coffee table and a few other bits as folks move out so there will be room for you to contribute in that way as well as putting art up etc.
I am a gardener and have worked to build a lush green space out back, with fruit tree babes, a small pond and space to chill.
Further House Info:
-Gas & Electric, Wi-Fi, Council Tax (band A) and loo roll subscription (bonus) are included in the cost of rent.
-Semi-furnished double room (bed and wardrobe)
-Double Gazing
-Gas Central Heating
-Gas Hob Stove
-Smoke-free Home (smoking outside)
-Indoor Bike Storage
-On Street Parking
* New housemate would potentially have to go through referencing with Haybrooks and cover the admin cost to be added to our contract and be added to a no deposit scheme called Flatfiar (that is the approx cost we've listed as the deposit)
