This lovely sunny double room is available for a quiet, considerate, non‑smoking professional or post‑grad student. The room is warm, well insulated and very peaceful.
It’s a spacious attic bedroom with a double bed and en‑suite shower and toilet. There is a wardrobe, bookshelves, a desk and chair for working, an IKEA Poäng chair with footstool for relaxing, and a chest of drawers. The room also has a kettle and microwave, plus space for a fridge‑freezer. A clothes airer hangs neatly over the stairs.
The house is just a few minutes’ walk to Endcliffe and Bingham Parks and the beautiful Porter Valley. I live here with my sixteen‑year‑old son, who is with his dad half the time.
There is space to store a bike outside, and it’s only a twenty‑minute cycle to town. On‑street parking is available. Bus routes 120 and 83 are a short walk away, taking you to the city centre, universities, hospitals or out into the Peak District.
We share a lovely back garden with quiet, friendly neighbours. We grow fruit and veg, and there’s a sunny bench and a chiminea firepot for relaxed evenings.
The kitchen is small but light, with an electric fan oven and hob.
Full‑fibre broadband is included.
Washing machine, outdoor line and indoor airer available.
I work from home during school hours, seeing one‑to‑one clients in my ground‑floor office.
Home is important to me. I’ve created a relaxed, welcoming space where everyone’s privacy is respected. Over the years we’ve welcomed many people to our cosy attic, and it works best for someone who feels comfortable using the kitchen and dining table, and enjoys having their own quiet space upstairs.
The household is LGBTIQA+ friendly. While we’re not looking for a couple, a friend is warmly welcome for occasional overnight stays.
For health reasons I need to be strictly gluten‑free, and I appreciate consideration around this.
The third member of the household is our beautifully playful cat, Maria. She is queen of the downstairs, though we don’t encourage her into the attic.
