Description
Hey!
I'm Brit and I've recently bought my first home in Seaton Delaval. I've spent the first month getting most of the messy renovation work out of the way, and I'm now ready to start sharing the house with a couple of lovely people.
There are still a few finishing touches happening, mainly finishing the fireplace and decorating the spare bedrooms (proper room photos coming this weekend!). I have deliberately tried to get as much of the disruptive work done as possible before anyone moves in.
The house has a really cosy shared living room and a huge kitchen with a nice dining area. I'm pretty social and often have friends popping in for coffee or dinner, and you'd always be welcome to join in if you wanted to, but equally there's absolutely no expectation to.
Both spare bedrooms are good-sized doubles and I've created additional storage space on the first floor for each room if wanted. I've furnished both rooms, but I'm completely happy for someone to bring their own furniture and move mine out.
There are also three outbuildings which are currently very glamorous storage sheds. I'm planning to renovate them into additional living space next summer, but for now they're really useful for storing non-valuable stuff.
I'm veggie and don't drink much at all, but I'm cool with other people's choices around food and drinking. It would be lovely to live with other veggies but definitely isn't essential.
I'm also potentially open to pets. I absolutely love dogs and cats, although I'm quite sensitive to smells, so it would need to be the right pet setup.
Cramlington Hospital is around an 8-minute drive away, so it could be ideal for doctors/healthcare workers. The train station is just up the road, trains run roughly every half hour and take around 18 minutes into central, so it's a much more affordable alternative to living in town. Seaton Sluice beach is about a 4-minute drive away.
I've been really surprised by how much I like Seaton Delaval. It feels incredibly safe, my neighbours on both sides are lush, and I've met far more people around my own age than I expected.
In summer I run South Beach Surf School in Blyth and during winter I work for my family. I'm out of the house quite a lot and I'm also planning to spend some time away this winter working towards becoming a snowboard instructor.
There are usually far too many surfboards, skateboards and snowboards kicking around, all of which I'm very happy to share!
