Description
Looking for 2 quiet, respectful Lodgers to share my comfortable, practical home here in the gorgeous waterfall area of Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons National Park)
Each lodger will have 2 rooms each for their own use.
This is a lovely neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful, with beautiful walks all around us.
The downstairs kitchen is big, fully equipped, with plenty of cupboards, an excellent rangemaster cooker and a microwave. The fridge is average size and I don't provide a freezer but there is space for your own. Each lodger will have their own cupboards.
The dining area is in the room's centre and there are 3 arm- chairs and a tv.
Out the front door there is a covered porch with a table and chairs, a washing line to drip-dry coats etc, a leafy front garden with a secluded patio, compost bins and easy, reliable, off-road parking for 2 cars right in front. I look after the leafy front garden but you would be very welcome to grow plants in pots.
The back garden is part of my Studio and not shared.
There is a fab utility room with a good washing machine, drying rails with hangers, coat and shoe rack and a dehumidifier.
Up stairs there is a warm linen room with an iron and ironing board. All the bedding you would need is here if you want to use it.
Currently there are decorative pieces around but I'm happy to move them out and for you to rearrange furniture to make your space feel like home.
The Brecon to Swansea bus service stops at Neath Train Station for mainline connections.
There is a really good local shop 3 mins walk away.
Swansea is 18 miles and an easy drive.
Morriston Hospital, where many of the neighbours work is 16 miles.
Brecon is 21 miles and a stunning drive or bus ride.
Ystradgynlais (5 miles) has a great choice of shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs and take-aways.
The friendly, welcoming pubs near the house do fantastic food and have lovely outdoor seating.
I am a sculptor. Part of my studio/living area is in the main house. (I have my own shower and toilet, kitchenette and other work areas in other parts of the property)
It is very important that the building is generally quiet: I use headphones for devices and most of my work process is very quiet. The neighbours are lovely and also value peace and quiet. If you feel the same way you would feel very at home here.
Keeping the place clean and tidy is important for making a shared house work. And it is easy here because there are no carpets and the furniture is practical as well as comfortable. I will expect the lodgers to clean their own areas and keep the shared areas very tidy and clean. I clean my own area and always leave shared areas clean if I use them them.
The heating system is a new, efficient, heat-pump with solar panels and keeps the house dry and comfortable and there lots of hot water in the large tank.
The Wi-fi is very good and reliable.
I welcome other crafts people: all the upstairs rooms have been workshops in the past!
There is a large ceramics kiln here, a small one and a glass kiln that you could have access to.
I have 3 cats and a gentle dog, all rescues. If you have pets or children we can talk through how to get that to work well for everyone.
Having other adults to stay a lot wont work I'm afraid.
I welcome LGBT, neuro-divergent and people of all nationalities here.
The rent, £550 per month per person, includes all bills and council tax.(band B). I have good records of past bills and would discuss any concerns about the bills increasing.
