Short-term

I am looking for a flatmate who will look after my place for a few months while I am working in Italy. My spare room is free from January 2027 (exact dates to be agreed).

About me: I am a retired teacher. I look after two children in Italy during school term time, which means you will have the flat mostly to yourself. (I will come and go, and use the small bedroom.)

Your room has a double bed, double wardrobe, good hanging space, a storage cupboard, and two units with three drawers each. There is also an office desk with computer monitor, and a shelf for books. The kitchen has all the usual things, and a small freezer. (The supermarket is also two minutes away, and is open until 10pm.) There is a washing machine, and old-fashioned pulley (clothes drier). Clothes dry well overnight. Double glazing and central heating throughout.

There are excellent transport links, especially to Edinburgh University central campus. (Other universities are more tricky to reach.) The 43 bus to Edinburgh takes about 30-35 minutes. By train, the journey from Dalmeny Station takes only 15 minutes. There is also a bus service (Jet 747) to/from Edinburgh Airport which takes only 18 minutes directly to South Queensferry.

As you will see from the photographs, I have an amazing view. South Queensferry is a great place to live with lots of green space, and good walks. It is also a friendly community, with many local activities, and social clubs. We have sports centre, rowing club, watersports, swimming pool, singing group, art club, book club, etc.

All I ask is that you live quietly so you don’t disturb my neighbours, and keep the place in good order . The rent includes all bills and cleaning (kitchen, bathroom, toilet, and living room) every four weeks.
