Description
Hi all!
I'm Keith and I'm one of the housemates at the house - glad to meet ya!!
We'll have a room available soon, and we're looking for someone to move in anytime from the 1st of September. If necessary, you can begin to move things in a bit sooner, if you don't mind your things being stored in one of the communal rooms downstairs
The room features a bed, a set of drawers, a wardrobe, and a desk and chair. It's not the biggest room in the house, but it's not the smallest either. I haven't included any pictures of it yet, as it hasn't been fully emptied by the guy who's leaving. It's a little grubby-looking from having been lived in for 5 years, but the carpet will be replaced, and anything else that needs mending will also be fixed (our landlord a good guy, and is pretty good at this sort of thing)
The location is good, as the busses into town run from the street outside. It's also very close to Cannon Hill Park, and the Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) which features a great little cinema, bar and a cafe. It's also only about 20 minutes walk from the University of Birmingham and all of the resources that offers
If you cycle, we've space for bikes in the house, and there are two cycle routes that you can use to head into town, or, if you go the other way, you can head for the hills along the River Rea route
Moseley and Kings Heath are also close by, so there are plenty of places to eat and drink, and hear live music.
Housemates-wise, there's three young-to-middle-aged people at the moment (all male). I work in a library, and my main hobby is music-making (but don't worry, you won't hear any of it!). I'm also kind of a film-freak, and I'm into films from all over the world (I'm not a total snob, though!). One of the other housemates is a newly qualified teacher (geography), and the other works in warehouse (we don't see him often!)
Added together, rent, council tax, internet and water all comes to about £400 per person, per month. The energy bill goes up and down depending on the season. During the coldest 2 months of winter, this can be as much as another £100 on top of the rest of the bills
STUDENTS: we'd be glad to welcome a student to the house, but! We need to be able to split ALL of our bills council tax four ways, so, we'd expect you to contribute to towards our council tax bill too!
We're open to all the genders - we're happy with you if you're happy with us
It's a no-smoking house, so you'll have to pop into the garden if you want to smoke / vape
Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions!
Ta folks!
(Oh, and if you send me a message, introduce yourself a little bit! Don't need your life story or anything, but last time we had a room available, people would email me with messages that were barely sentences, like "Want to view" or "Available?". THESE MESSAGES WERE ALL IGNORED!!!)
