This is a unique opportunity to be the only lodger in a 4 bedroom house, sharing it with the male owner of the property and 2 cats.
I am looking for a long term lodger at a property in Langley Green. It is well placed, a 10 minute walk from bus stops that go either towards the Town Centre or Gatwick airport, the latter of which is only a 10 minute bus ride away.
Street parking is available.
The property has undergone renovations over the past few years to give it a more modern feel. The kitchen and hallways were reworked in 2021, the living room, dining room and upstairs bathroom in 2022.
The bedroom itself is downstairs and nicely tucked away, giving a more private feel. There is further storage space under the bed itself.
The monthly rent is £500, excluding utilities. The costs for the water (Southern and Thames), gas, council tax (Band C), internet and electricity are dealt with separately and I am happy to go through the existing bills so you have an idea of costs. We would be splitting them in half.
There is a 1 month deposit to be paid, which will go to a protected government scheme so it is kept safe.
The downstairs bedroom is yours, and we will have shared use of the kitchen, dining room, living room, upstairs bathroom and downstairs toilet.
The cats which reside here are older, friendly and have their own routine, so they should not get in the way of anything.
I work at a mixture of locations, including at home and an office. I also spend time away from home in the UK and abroad. I sometimes have very early starts and late finishes.
The only expectation with the cats is that during the time I am away from home, either abroad or otherwise, you will continue to look after them (they are insured and I will cover their costs as normal). The benefit is that during this time, you will in essence have a house to yourself.
Please do note that this property is my residential home and I am very proud of how it is kept in a good and clean condition. I do regularly clean it myself, keep up with repairs and make efforts to improve it when I can. I do therefore expect the lodger to also keep it in a clean and tidy state.
