Description
We are a married couple 61 & 65 who have a bedroom, living room and private bathroom to rent for single occupancy only. All of the rooms are on the ground floor and are adjacent to the large kitchen. A separate entrance through the kitchen allows you private access if you wish. The living room is nicely decorated and has a two seater settee and arm chair and digital TV, DVD player and small CD Micro system with Bluetooth and is for your sole use . So if you have come in from a bad day at work, you can chill in the peace and quiet of your own living space. The bedroom is also nicely decorated and has a large built in wardrobe and plenty of drawer space. It also includes a large single/small double bed, bedside cabinet and upright chair. The bathroom comprises of a bath, over bath power shower, WC and sink with a large bathroom cabinet. This is for your sole use. Bed linen and Bath towels can be provided at no extra cost if you do not possess your own. All rooms are centrally heated, with an extra Electrical Fire in the living area.
There is use of the large shared kitchen including the washing machine, dishwasher and tumble drier, we would just need to arrange a rota so as we do not get in each other's way, ha ha! You have your own fridge with a small freezer section but if you require any more freezer space you can use a shelf in ours. Kitchen cupboard space will also be allocated.
There is a large garden and patio which you are more than welcome to use.
You would however need to be a dog lover as we have a Golden Labrador, Rocky, who is very friendly and loving but will not enter your rooms. It is imperative that you are OK with dogs as this is Rocky’s home too and will not be sharing with another dog or someone who has an aversion to dogs.
All bills and Wi-Fi are included at the property. We are a 7 minute walk from Ifield train station (12 minutes on the train to Gatwick and approx 8 minutes to Three Bridges). We are on bus routes No. 2 (to Crawley Town Centre and K2 Leisure Centre) and No. 200 (to Gatwick & Horsham)which is a 24 hour service or if you drive there is off street parking available. A secure garage would be available for a bicycle or motorcycle. Property is covered by external CCTV.
A security deposit will be required of one months rent but rent will be paid one month in advance on first day of occupancy by Bank transfer on a standing order basis and then on the same date of each following month. (security deposit will be returned in full on the cessation of the tenancy minus any agreed costs of unfortunate events.) We shall require a work reference which states you are in permanent employment. Also you will need to provide proof of right to reside and work in this country. A previous landlord reference will also be required. All of these may be verified verbally as well. Rooms will be available from Saturday 04/10/25. Unfortunately overnight visitors will not be permitted. A maximum of 4 day visitors are welcome but must leave the property by 10.00pm
We are live in owners and have been renting out the rooms to the same person for 10 years and she is prepared to give us, as landlords, a reference if required. We operate on a trust basis so the only locks on internal doors are on the two bathrooms. We will respect your personal privacy at all times but we expect in return that you keep your rooms clean and tidy as this is our home. We have our living area and you have yours, we don’t want that to sound like we are segregating you as we will see each throughout the day but we will never enter your rooms without knocking first and would expect the same of you.
We are an easy going couple with very little rules, do not let our ages suggest we are a couple of old fuddy -duddys, we are not. We can discuss more details when we meet. Call in the evenings between 6.30-9pm on the home phone number provided and we can discuss a viewing/tenant interview. Myself, Katie, my husband Neil and Rocky the dog look forward to meeting and talking with you soon.
