We have a lovely, spacious double room available in our Victorian family home in Hassocks. What makes the setup a little different from a normal house share is that the lodger accommodation is in its own separate part of the house, with a private entrance and plenty of space and privacy.

There are just two lodger rooms, and between them they have their own bathroom and separate lounge/kitchenette area. These areas are shared only with the other lodger – not with our family – so it feels much more independent than simply renting a bedroom in someone’s home.

The room is bright, comfortable and fully furnished, and all bills and Wi-Fi are included.

The location is brilliant, particularly if you work in Brighton but want somewhere quieter to come home to. Hassocks station is around a 5-minute walk away and Brighton is only around 9 minutes by train. There are also direct trains towards Gatwick and London.

Hassocks is a really lovely village with cafés, pubs, shops and everything you need close by, plus the South Downs right on the doorstep if you enjoy walking, running or cycling.

We are a friendly family living in the main part of the house downstairs. Because the lodger area is separate, you can be as independent as you like while still having the nice side of living in a friendly, relaxed home.

We also have two very friendly cats, although they live mainly in our part of the house.

We’re looking for a friendly, respectful female professional who would like somewhere peaceful and comfortable to call home. Ideally we’re looking for someone who wants to stay for at least six months.
