Description
Our house is like a tardis much bigger than it seems! It is very relaxed and clean, you share the facilities and there are no extra bills. There is a kitchen (where you have your own cupboard), microwave, washer, fridge/freezer, dryer, dishwasher, Wifi, dining room, somewhere to chill and one and a half bathrooms the main bathroom has a separate power shower (also your own cupboard here).
We have a lovely spare room in our recently modernised house which is a bungalow. The room has a great bed, with a very comfortable clean mattress. I can provide bedlinen and towels. I keep the house clean although I do leave you to sort your own room out.
You are welcome to make the room yours, move the furniture around and I can remove whatever you don't need. I don't have a list of house rules all I ask is that you clean up after yourself, respect the security of the house and empty the dishwasher and the bin from time to time!
This is single occupancy, by arrangement partners can stay (no children).
You should be a professional or a student in higher education. A reference for work will be checked.
Hassocks is a great little town, shops are open til late and there are groups and clubs for sport. Sometimes my lodgers join one of the local gyms or running clubs.
There are local buses for Brighton and surrounding areas like Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill. It is about a 12 minute walk to Hassocks station. There is on the road parking at the house and if you have a bike you can store it in the garage.
Plumpton College is a bus/car ride of about 5 miles.
Brighton - 10 min walk and a 10 min train ride away.
Burgess Hill - is a 10min commute by rail or car depending on the traffic.
Sussex and Brighton University - train into Brighton and change for a train to Falmer which is about 45 mins.
I have had lodgers for 18 years and are very used people coming and going. I work locally, have lived in the area all my life, like working out, love walking on the downs and meeting up with my friends in various nice pubs when Covid restrictions allow.
I live with my son who is away at university and we share the house with a visitor loving cat.
Whilst I don't have a minimum stay I would prefer a lodger who can commit to six months or more.
STUDENTS - I can hold the room for your start date.
COVID - You must have had your Covid vaccinations in order to live here.
This is not a first come first gets the room if you are interested contact me and we will go from there.
Any questions please get in touch by email or text me (please do not call as I work and cannot take calls) I will get back to you as soon as I can.
