Welcome to the advert for a spare room at my cozy, humble abode. It’s a sociable, peaceful place that’s a world away from the sterile & sometimes isolated world of living in a HMO, and includes a shared lounge, a lovely wood burner (obviously not in the current heatwave! 🤣, but a very different atmosphere in the winter) and a gorgeous spoilt mutt who's priority is getting all the tickles & affection he can!
🐶 - In return he’s a great tonic for unwinding after a busy or stressful day.

Housemates with sociable working hours would be better suited, as I work part-time supporting the educational sector and my existing housemate is a local GP. That said, some daytime WFH at the dining room table can be readily accommodated, as can tapping away on a laptop in the lounge during the evening, probably with a good dose of Netflix in the background.

I have been a live-in landlord for some 20 years and lived in shared houses prior to this with & without a live-in landlord, whereby I have real-world appreciation and understanding of what it’s like to be a lodger. Therefore the bedroom & en-suite is for privacy, but downstairs & the garden is for respectfully sharing, socialising and enjoying.

✅ Valid security checks preferred - e. g. DBS, UK Airside ID or Emergency services/NHS etc. (Both myself and current housemate have enhanced DBS’s)
✅ A verifiable professional (not financial) reference from your Employer or Accountant is essential
