Welcome to the advert for a spare room at my humble abode, which is a sociable and peaceful place that includes a shared lounge, a cosy wood burner and a gorgeous, spoilt mutt who's in charge of receiving all the tickles and affection.

Housemates with sociable working hours would be better suited, as I work part-time in the education sector and my existing housemate is a local GP. That said, WFH downstairs a few days a week at the dining room table can be readily accommodated, as can beavering away on a laptop in the lounge during the evening

As a live-in landlord of some 20 years, I’ve also lived in shared houses with and without a live-in landlord, whereby I have real-world appreciation and understanding of what it’s like to be a lodger. - The room is for privacy, the house is for respectfully living in and enjoying

✅ All deposits and rent paid / returned via BACS to UK personal bank accounts only, and as named in the SpareRoom’s Lodgers’ Licence Agreement
✅ Valid security checks preferred - e. g. DBS, UK Airside ID or Emergency services/NHS etc. (Both myself and current housemate have enhanced DBS’s)
✅ A verifiable professional reference from your Employer or Accountant is essential
