Description
Hi!
This room is available from the 29th of May, and we will be holding viewings on the 13th of May, at this stage.
Rent is £710 per calendar month + bills (sky, internet, gas, electric, water, council tax - band F, tv licence, which is about £120-140 a month, averaged over the year - pending any further rises. If you are a student, as we are not all students, we will not be able to discount the council tax.
As a flat, we are very easy going and like to hang out together but it is rare for all of us to be home at the same time. We all cook separately. We are all very friendly, but due to us not all being in the same place at the same time, you might get between 1-3 of us when you come to view the flat.
Must love dogs - we have a long term borrow my doggy arrangement, with a very friendly cockapoo, who comes for the day once a week and sometimes stays over if his real family are away. He is a much loved member of the flat and we all agree, that the best days are the dog days. We also have some Rover app dogs that come and stay either for the day or overnight - they are all super friendly and we argue over who gets to cuddle them haha.
The available room is on the ground floor of a two floor house. The room comes with a double bed. The window in this room overlooks our medium sized garden. The flat has central heating and a tumble dryer, as well as a communal living room.
The garden is great in the summer for BBQ's and sunbathing, and in the winter we have been known to build a snowman or two.
The bathroom has recently been replaced/refurbished. We have separate toilets on two levels.
We are close to Balham High Street, so there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants. We are also close to Clapham Common for walks and running, picnics and so on.
We are about a five minute walk from Clapham South tube, and there is a bus stop at the end of the road for a number of bus routes. Balham tube and overground stations are about a seven minute walk away.
We are lucky enough to have quite a few food-shopping options within a few minutes walk - a Co-op on the corner, a Tesco Extra and Sainsbury's Local near Clapham South tube, and a large Sainbury's and Waitrose, as well as a fruit and veg market, on the way to Balham tube, and a number of Costcutter-type shops.
We are two Kiwis and one Brit - one Kiwi man who works in a local restaurant, one Britwi woman who is a programme manager for the Council and one British woman who works with young people.
As mentioned, we have an LGBTQ+ member of the household and we are open to more, however, the more important thing is that you are not homophobic.
We have a private landlord who we get on with really well, and has recently refreshed the whole property for us.
Parking is on-street and you will need to buy a permit.
