Description
Large double room in a beautiful Grade II listed house - Brixton - £1,383 pcm (all bills included)
I'm looking for one person to share my home from 1 August or thereafter.
This isn't a typical houseshare. It's a quiet, well-looked-after home that I own and love living in, and I'm hoping to find someone who'll feel the same.
The essentials
* £1,383 per calendar month, including all bills
* Available from 1 August or thereafter
* One-year tenancy
* One month's notice (both ways)
* Four-week deposit (£1,383)
* I'm the live-in landlord
* One reference required from your current or most recent landlord
The house
The house is a beautiful Grade II listed Victorian property dating back to the 1890s, full of original character, high ceilings and period features. Despite being in the heart of Brixton, it's remarkably peaceful.
Location
* 4-5 minutes' walk to Brixton Underground (Victoria Line)
* 2 minutes' walk to Loughborough Junction station
* Right next to Brixton Market, cafés, restaurants and everything the area has to offer
The house is arranged over four floors.
Basement
* Newly renovated kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and large fridge-freezer
* Large bathroom with shower
* Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer
Raised ground floor
* Two reception rooms, including a TV area
* Small WC
First floor
* My bedroom and office
Second floor
* Your room
* A smaller bedroom occupied by another lodger
Your room
The room is on the top floor and is exceptionally spacious, bright and fully furnished.
The room is for a single occupant only.
The house also has a lovely garden that I spend a lot of time looking after.
About me
I live here with my boyfriend, another lodger and Boo, my two-and-a-half-year-old cockapoo. He's hypoallergenic, doesn't shed and is about as gentle and friendly as dogs come.
I take a lot of pride in making this feel like a home rather than just somewhere people sleep, and I'm looking for someone who'll enjoy living in that kind of environment.
About you
I'd love to live with someone who is naturally curious about the world and has interests outside work. Whether that's science, books, music, research, politics, photography, art, hiking or something completely different matters far less than being engaged with life.
Because I work from home several days a week, I'd prefer someone whose routine generally takes them out during the day. It simply helps the house feel balanced and gives everyone a bit more space.
Practically speaking, I'm probably best suited to someone who:
* works outside the home most days
* enjoys a peaceful home environment
* isn't into partying or heavy drinking
* is clean, considerate and independent
* will enjoy living with a dog and help keep the house feeling like a home
Ultimately, finding the right person matters much more than ticking any particular box.
If this sounds like your kind of place, send me a message telling me a little about yourself, what you do and what you're interested in. I'd especially love to hear about what you enjoy outside work.
If it sounds like we might be a good fit, I'd be delighted to arrange a viewing.
Thanks,
Davide
